Getting my first Hollywood wax this morning...

Am sick of shaving only to have stubble appear in a day. I'm doing this for me and no-one else although DP is very excited...

Anyone have any experience?
Will I be smooth everywhere and how long will it last?
Is it really embarrassing and is there anything I need to know?

Take some paracetamol half an hour beforehand. Don’t be shy, they’ve seen it all before. You might be a bit red and sensitive straight after. Sometimes I would get pinprick drops of blood, but I’ve waxed for over a decade now so I barely notice.

How long does the smoothness last, as when I shave I have stubble literally within 12 hours

You’ll be fine. I had my first in 18 months yesterday and was dreading it as it had been so long but it honestly wasn’t painful at all and over and done in 15 minutes.

I much prefer it to shaving as shaving gives me terrible ingrown hairs. You also won’t get that thick stubble regrowth, it’ll be much softer. I tend to get at least 3 weeks out of mine before I notice much regrowth but I’m also not particularly hairy.

You’ll be totally hairless everywhere but do say if you don’t want them to do your bum. I know some people don’t like that part.

Done it! It was fine, not super painful and she was so nice she didn't make it weird at all !
Skins very pink at the moment so will see what its like in a while

Keep doing it, the hair gets fluffier and softer over time.

Lockdown was a nightmare for me, hair got all coarse again. I'm happy to have my 6 weekly visits again

Oh so do I @cravingthelook 😂 it’s not painful at all but almost a satisfying feeling when the hairs come out.

I sometimes shave but am full on hairy at the moment
Would it be better to be a few mm long?

I would say mine is usually less than a centimetre long when I go but I had laser years ago so mine is pretty patchy and some areas have no hair at all. I did have a friend who went with a full on bush and they had to trim it before they started waxing so you’d probably prefer to do that yourself at home if it’s as long as that.

It's painful, but the pain is over in seconds. Love not have any hair down there

I've just had a good old examine and I'm.not sure I'm thrilled. I had to pluck quite a few she had missed with tweezers, and I'm fairly certain a lot is going to grow back quickly as there seems to be a lot of hair under the skin that I can see

Manage your expectations, you’ll only be hair free for a week or two before rogues start popping back up. But what a lovely week or two you’ll have!

Because hair grows at different stages, there will be some too short that the wax won’t have removed and will grow through quicker.

After a few waxes it will even out and the hair that does grow back will be thinner and sparser.

Definitely stick with it, although she shouldn’t be missing any obvious hair.

Can I ask, is it a full legs akimbo no underwear and do the get the inside of your labia where the little hairs seem to sprout?

OP, I think you’ll find the first one is the worst. Overall l think you will find yourself much more comfortable in the hot weather as a result too.

@WhatsErFace2020 yes it really was full legs akimbo. I thought I'd feel awkward but honestly after about 5 mins I couldn't have given a shit. She saw and waxed....everything!
