Hop27 · 14/08/2021 13:23

It's my 41st birthday in a few weeks, it will be warm sunny weather. Barefoot bowls in the afternoon, kicking on to sundowners in the evening. Like everyone it's been a shit year so want to feel nice.

You have lovely taste! I like 1, 4 and 5

Hop27 · 14/08/2021 21:43

I'm happy for other suggestions if anyone has any other ideas!
I'm not overly worried about the bending down aspect I wore a short dress last time I went bowling and just wore big pants !!!
I didn't opt for a playsuit because I already have a Camilla one. However I've just seen this.......

This is the style of one I have and I really like these prints (but sold out in my size)

Well, this does make me feel a little less guilty about spending £15 on a new to me Goth dress today...

I personally would go for the black stripey one - look at my username! I love that one. But choose which one you like. As long as it's comfortable and practical - and you can afford it - go for it.

From the Australian website, I'm guessing that that's where you're from? Barefoot bowls on the beach in a minidress probably makes more sense in that culture and climate. Have a blast, OP. And happy early birthday. 🎂

Hop27 · 14/08/2021 21:46

Camilla is 100% silk and embellished in Swarovski crystals so with the money IMO. (Also has very good resale value when you get bored)

They are all very unflattering Confused

Couldibeanymoreawesome · 14/08/2021 21:48

1st or 3rd from the op.

happydays2345 · 14/08/2021 21:53

They all look a bit primark 😬😳

Hop27 · 14/08/2021 21:55

@happydays2345 ! If only I had access to a primark 🤣

Nsky · 14/08/2021 21:56

Sorry none are nice, bit depressing colour wise

Hop27 · 14/08/2021 22:00

@Nsky what would you suggest?!

HippeePrincess · 14/08/2021 22:03

Well now I feel old , I am mid 30's but would never wear any of those, they don't look "suitable" for anyone over about 25 unless a supermodel clone, but then I don't much like flashing my cellulite.
Also stupid amount of money for very small pieces of fabric.
How about a jumpsuit or maxi dress?

Hop27 · 14/08/2021 22:11

@HippeePrincess
Links for jumpsuits down the thread Smile

They're all awful.

KingdomScrolls · 14/08/2021 22:29

My mum has a dress that's very similar to the playsuit but is in her sixties and got it from Sainsbury's for about £20, none of them are really to my taste and seem expensive for what they are and very inappropriate for bowls, but Swarovski crystals on anything really isn't my style. Fashions are different in different parts of the world you might be better asking for some Aussie input.

Antinerak · 14/08/2021 22:34

I love the Aria Mini Dress (3 I think?) Lovely and summery, dressed up or dressed down and you can wear it again.

Nsky · 14/08/2021 22:58

Something in a pastel colour thar flatters your shape

threestars · 14/08/2021 23:03

Love the 1st one.
If I was still super slim, I'd go for the Daintree jumpsuit, but prefer the dress.

Have you looked at Megan Park too?

StoneofDestiny · 14/08/2021 23:56

1st one is the nicest

CorianderBee · 15/08/2021 01:58

I like 2 or 3. But the first is chavvy

user1483387154 · 15/08/2021 05:24

1 or 3

KikoLemons · 15/08/2021 07:12

The quality will really show in real life. It'll be the cut, the quality of the fabric (OP said they're silk), the seams, the detail.

I love those printed paysuits too. (Not for me: too old, to fat, too ugly and it's too cold here most of the time!). They look carefree and happy. Splash out OP!

Sciurus83 · 15/08/2021 07:27

I like 1. My god some of the responses on here, you'd be better off asking in Style and Beauty

I am have lived over there and am a citizen now. I never found Aussie women to be more inclined to flash their underwear than British are, nor for it to be accepted as normal, no matter how big their pants are. 😅.

I think the dresses are too short for the occasion and all look very cheap despite the silly prices, remind me of a big hanky.

Hop27 · 15/08/2021 11:55

How do I move to style & beauty?
