Pedometer watch that doesn’t measure pulse?

Dreaded time of year- my DMs birthday is approaching and for once she’s mentioned something she would like, however I’m not sure it even exists?

She wants a watch that counts her steps, but nothing else, as seeing her heart beat etc panics her.
I’ve googled and looked around, but can’t find any that don’t do both.

Anyone have one or know of any that even do this nowadays?

Not holding my breath for a wave of responses

I have a Mi Band, and you can turn off the heart rate monitor in the Mi Fit app, so you can probably do so in other brands too.

Oh can you? That’s very helpful, I had no idea you could do that.

Thanks a lot I will look into this!

You can get them - look for one that’s more like a traditional watch style rather than a sports watch. Something like www.amazon.co.uk/Withings-Unisexs-Move-Activity-Tracking-Watch/dp/B086FCNQRT?tag=mumsnetforu03-21

But yes you can turn off the heart rate monitor on most smart watches - I have a Garmin and you can on mine.

I have an incredibly basic Garmin Vivofit which does just what you are looking for. It has time, date, steps. There is also the option to estimate distances and calories but these are just estimates based on step numbers and can easily be removed in the app. There is no possibility of pulse or heart rate monitoring.

Mine cost very little, and does exactly what I want it to do. It says the battery lasts about 12 months but I have had mine almost five years and changed the battery at about 4 years in.

There is an app as well but it works perfectly fine as a pedometer and watch without needing the app.

I forgot to type the full name - mine is the Vivofit 2.

Thank you so, so much @Salanda and @sycamore54321, both incredibly helpful, will consider both, they are exactly what she’s looking for
