Gold pendant - where to look?

I’m looking for a stylish gold pendant and I can’t seem to find what I want. I would like it to be gold, rather than gold plated, and quite simple in design if possible - a circle shape, maybe, or something similar. I don’t mind if it’s inset with stones, or has a pattern. But I’d like it not to be tiny!

I have no idea where to look - anyone got any tips? Budget up to maybe £600 ish.

Have you looked on Etsy? I recently bought a solid gold bee pendant which I'm delighted with having seen lots of similar priced plated options.

Georg Jensen. Although I think you might need to stretch the budget a bit.

I’ve bought a few bits from 88& cloudless as gifts (and gifts for me!) and really love them, the jewelry and the lady who runs the company are both lovely.

Cult of youth has some lovely pendants

Alex Monroe! 100 percent. Got some beautiful gold pieces recently.

Sorry. Missed the part where you said you wanted all gold rather than plated. In that case, Goldsmiths is a great shout!

Mufflette · 14/08/2021 08:27

I really like Alighieri. Gold plated but you can ask them to make it solid gold instead.

MyGrassIsBrowner · 14/08/2021 08:33

Check out Philippa Herbert! Her stuff is absolutely gorgeous!

MrsPumpkinSeed · 14/08/2021 08:49

Agree with Alex Monroe (I have the bumblebee)

Lowlifeinhighplaces · 14/08/2021 08:51

Have you looked at a vintage piece?

LadyEloise1 · 14/08/2021 08:53

Google the following jewellers :
Alan Ardiff

Yvonne Kelly

Posh Totty Designs

PegasusReturns · 14/08/2021 08:53

Most of alex monroes collection is plated - so watch that.

I’ve been trawling auctions/antique jewellers for similar, with some success.

Dower & Hall

LadyCarolineDester · 14/08/2021 09:33

Thanks all, for these suggestions - exactly what I needed, which is some new names. All I could think of was Tiffany, which I don’t like particularly and seems overpriced. I will get on to Googling all of them, (when I’m not in sole charge of a three year old).

Etsy - if anyone has a recommended crafts person there, please let me know. I’m finding it hard to see anything other than very cheap things.

And vintage - I’m very happy (would almost prefer) to buy vintage/antique, but not sure where to look. Anyone got any recommendations?

Thanks again.

Try www.easyliveauction.com/ which is a platform hosting auctions from all over U.K. and Ireland.

The auction houses that are on the platform are reputable but vary in terms of quality of goods.

Also different houses have different rules around viewing/collection/postage and rates so make sure you’re familiar but I bid through the platform regularly and have bought some lovely items from ££-£££££

MissFritton65 · 14/08/2021 09:54

I bought mine from Pretty Wild Jewellery on Etsy. They were excellent! I paid £895 for a solid gold bee.

PegasusReturns · 14/08/2021 09:57

I’ve just had a quick look and there’s not much on the auction site at the moment - august is always slow! But here’s a couple of pictures of things I’ve seen that I liked recently - there’s a huge variety.

Daniella Draper 🤎

VenusClapTrap · 14/08/2021 13:18

Pruden and Smith. They also do bespoke if you know what you want but can’t find it, and it’s not crazy money. They made me a gorgeous solid gold horse pendant, a copy of a cheapo plated one (that had sentimental value for me) for around £600.

BeaLola · 14/08/2021 14:27

I was going to say Dower & Hall & Danielle Draper but see I've been beaten to itSmile

How about also trying Dinny Hall ?

OnceUponAThread · 14/08/2021 14:35

You could try Laura Lee Jewellery. Gorgeous stuff, in your price range, and great customer service.

Seconding the suggestion of Georg Jensen

I really like the Halo pendant but Magic, Mercy and Offspring (a few variations) are all lovely
