How do you maintain your eye brows??

I'm in my late 30s and feel like everyone in the world has perfect eye brows apart from me lol. My eye brows are very dark brown, pretty thick and I like their overall shape but just don't know how to keep them tidy?! The individual hairs are quite wiry. If I get them threaded / waxed at the salon, I get regrowth within days and can't afford to go every week. I've tried home wax strips but can't master them and usually end up ripping skin off!! So I usually just try and keep on top of them by plucking them but always seem to have some stubble / regrowth.

I am scared of hd brows as I think I'd end up looking like a witch as my eye brows are so dark.

It just seems everyone else has perfectly shaped and maintained eye brows, where as mine are a mess!!

I'm a bit the same, but mine are quite scarce, they're rubbish, barely grow but have stragglers all over the place . I've tried so many different salons and given up as they seem to just not do what I like.

I've just started using face hair removal cream on a cotton bud, it works pretty well, maybe give that a go? Though saying that it doesn't last long until they grow back.

Ooh that's a good idea, probably easier than the wax strips, thanks!

I just pluck them. If you get them shaped once in a while you just follow the shape they did. With regrowth showing it’s a case of having decent tweezers to get the tiny hairs, I’ve had my Tweezermans for over 25 years so they are a worthwhile investment

lazylinguist · 13/08/2021 11:10

I just pluck mine with tweezers, but not very heavily. They are dark (though I have light brown/dark blonde hair). Mine are getting a little sparser, so I use a normal eyebrow pencil to fill them in a bit when I can be bothered.

Tbh I wouldn't remotely notice whether somebody's eyebrows were 'perfect' or not. What even is a perfect eyebrow? They seems to change fashion pretty often. I only notice them if they're particularly wild or if they are those ridiculous HD slug ones (which don't seem to be so popular now, fortunately!).

Galassia · 13/08/2021 11:46

I just pluck any that appear above or below, use Vaseline at night to keep them silky and it seems to promote growth and then I use a pencil occasionally for a more groomed look.

SuperSketchy · 13/08/2021 12:00

My eyebrows are barely visible, which I don't especially love! Makes me look like Humpty Dumpty.

I use eyebrow gel which keeps them tidy and also darkens them a little, (which you may not want).

Persevere with the threading, it's like waxing where you need to get into a hair growing cycle with it.

Claudia84 · 13/08/2021 13:00

You have to be careful with it but I do mine with a dermapen now after getting powder brows. It’s really easy to follow the line of the ‘powder’ and they look well groomed but not thick which is why i haven’t done HD either - they don’t need to be any darker!

RacheyCat · 13/08/2021 14:17

I was getting mine threaded but the last time I went the lady did it while eating a pear, which was absolutely disgusting, and I got spots afterwards, which I blame on her

nodogz · 13/08/2021 14:22

I like a hd brow. Yes, they look scary as they go heavy on the makeup after the appointment but they do get a good shape. I get mine done once a year and then just pluck to keep the shape.

Salanda · 13/08/2021 14:27

I get mine threaded about every month and pluck the worst strays out in between. I also get them dyed at the same time.

stripedbananas · 13/08/2021 16:24

I usually get mine threaded but now DD 14 expertly plucks them for me as it's easier to do from home. She also trims my long hair.

househuntinginthesouth · 13/08/2021 16:36

Microbladed and then I wax around the shape when needed

theorangesisters · 13/08/2021 16:48

Mine are very dark - I get them threaded about every 2 or 3 weeks and pluck them in between - any longer and I start to pluck too enthusiastically and start to lose the shape! Giving them a little brush or a comb every day makes a difference as well.

suckingonchillidogs · 13/08/2021 16:51

I've got crap ones too OP - they seem to grow outwards for some reason!! I trim obvious wild ones with nail scissors and pluck stragglers. Benefit do some good pencils for filling in gaps.

Redruby2020 · 13/08/2021 16:56

Hi, just chipping in as I have been a regular eyebrow waxer at the salon, for many years. So I know what you mean about re growth etc in between, and obviously worse for some more than others. You could try one of the eye brow pen like trimmers?
