My hair is highlighted and although I wash and condition it it still doesn't look shiny. I sometimes use a serum on the ends but if I use it all over it tends to look greasy. Has anyone any recommendations of what products to use.

Wonder Water by L’Oreal. It’s very good.

Hi op I have highlighted (bleach) hair that's prone to frizz. I've started using Frizz Ease Miraculous Recovery conditioner and am impressed with it, especially for the price. I leave it on for about half an hour with a turban on my head.

I also swear by Moroccan oil; I comb it through before drying my hair. It's expensive though. This is the one I use, it's around £33 but it lasts me a year.

Also the way I dry my hair affects how smooth and shiny it is; I don't get good results from a regular hairdryer but love my Revlon One Step.

Tresseme hemp , I've only use the conditioner but it did give me a shine.

Oil on the ends, I've used lots over the years and most of them are good. I really love the Garnier one, it makes hair feel incredibly soft! I only use it on the ends too as otherwise my hair goes greasy. Olaplex 3 and 6 are lovely too (although I didn't rate the shampoo and conditioner at all) but I'm not sure they're in Boots.

Also mixing up shampoo seems to help, so I have a main shampoo and then every few washes I use a different one.

I recently started using George Northwood shampoo and conditioner (for dry hair- the line is called “unparched”) and the softness it gives my hair is unbelievable! It has a strong perfume-y scent (it smells exactly like Santal by Le Labo), so it’s worth knowing that if you don’t like scented hair products. I think they are sold exclusively at Boots.

Two products make my hair (dark brown, straight with the slightest of waves to it, not coloured, almost bra strap-length at the moment) shiny:

Ouai hair oil: I use 1 small squirt of oil, rub it between my palms and apply on damp post-shower hair on lengths and ends. If I use more than that my hair gets heavy. It has a lovely tuberose smell.

Oribe Super shine moisturising cream (leave-in): super expensive but lasts ages. I use just a tiny bit, again warmed between my palms, on length and ends of my hair when it’s damp. It gives amazing shine and softness. If you have a Space NK near you it’s worth asking for a sample.

Having a silk pillowcase has massively transformed my hair

Give Me Cosmetics (they are only available online) - the hair mask is really good and they also do a shampoo and conditioner.

I recently bought an olive shampoo and conditioner from Lidl recently and was very impressed with the results.

I sometimes put some coconut water oil on the ends and use Aveda spray leave in conditioner (in a pink bottle)
