Online glasses

Has anyone ordered from any online glasses websites? I've been eyeing up the ones on Bloo Bloom, but haven't known anyone whose used them. The Trustpilot reviews are very good though, and seem to be a good range of styles available and I like the free home try on option.

I wanted to but my prescription was too strong and they wouldn't do it. Apparently, the designer glasses frames are all made by generic glasses manufacturers and then branded, so you're not getting better quality by buying something branded. The best quality I've found are Boots own - they're really solid. But if my prescription had allowed I'd have got some online.

Glasses direct several times, love it. The prices are really good and they'll send out frames for you to try on for free before you actually buy them if you want to see how they'd look. I go for the thinned down lenses and transitions so they function as sunglasses too and they come in at around £100 rather than the £250-300 I always get quoted in high street opticians.

I use Glasses Direct. Pretty quick & good customer service.

A friend of mine bought some but said they were lights than her usual ones.

I've ordered from Fashion Eyewear (a few pairs between DH and me) and Shade Station - both have been very good and would buy again.

Is this just from when you go to order? I wonder if mine might be the same as I have had an increase in my prescription strength.

I've used glasses direct and mad about specs. Both are great. Just take note
Of the frame sizes. I gambled on my first pair being only a couple of my larger than I used to wear and they felt huge.

Think I've ordered 8 pairs including sunglasses and they've all been fine

Heard a few people using iolla and liking them? Haven't tried myself yet though!

Good point. If you look at the arm of your current glasses it shows a series of numbers which are the measurements for your glasses.

First number is width of lense
Second number is width of nose bridge
Final number is length of arm.

You can often filter on the site by those numbers if you want to keep the same shape/size.

I've recently ordered glasses to try at home from Glasses Direct and Ace & Tate. Really impressed with both but I think I prefer the Ace & Tate range and clear pricing (everything is £100: frame + thinned down lenses). I can't vouch for how good the final product is yet but I definitely give a thumbs up to the choice, design and quality of the frames and the efficiency of the try at home service.

I’ve ordered from glasses direct before. As others have said really good, no issues. I did order a pair of solid plastic frames that didn’t fit great but the customer service was great and sent me a step by step process of how to heat the frame with a hair drier and where to / how to adjust the frame. Once they were adjusted they were great had them for years.
