Good stuff from Avon?

New Avon lady in our road. What is good?

I'm always interested in nail varnish, hair stuff, perfume/scent and bath bits. Maybe eye/lip colour. I don't need anything particularly though

The mark setting spray is great.

The mark eyeshadow primer is really good.

Like their mascaras but they tend to run out quick.

The bubble baths and shower gels are all good. The aloha manoi body spray smells like holidays.

Lots of very good affordable perfumes, often made by world renowned perfumers. I recommend the Avon Artistique range, the Elixirs of Love range, and Avon Eve Truth to name but a few

JustGotToKeepOnKeepingOn · 10/08/2021 23:17

I really like the Anew eye cream - I've tried lots of more expensive brands but this always performs better!

Malibukev · 10/08/2021 23:25

60 second nail polishes.
Lip oil
Skin so soft dry oil
Perfumes are great
Kids toiletries are great.
Bubble baths and room sprays amazing
Stear clear of ornaments. Always tiny.

Their eyeliners are soft and go on really easily.
The 18h eyeliner for the waterline is a miracle stayer.
I like their nail varnishes.
The eyeshadow primer is pretty good and their makeup brushes are lovely and soft and have lasted me for many years without shedding.

SinisterBumFacedCat · 10/08/2021 23:35

Avon perfumes are lovely, I really like Eve Truth and Far Away. The true colour foundation is great, but the pump clogs up a bit. They usually half the price of the nail varnish pretty regularly. I have 2 lipsticks, frozen rose and toasted rose which are pretty dependable too.

The best thing is to avoid supporting what is now a bog standard MLM.

YouokHun · 10/08/2021 23:52

Yes, Avon is a shitty exploitative multilevel marketing scheme, exploiting and rinsing women. Why support that? There are lots of other companies who trade honestly and make better products. Is this a stealth Avon promotion thread?

JustGotToKeepOnKeepingOn · 11/08/2021 07:46

I just buy direct from the website. I really like some of the products so am happy to buy them. If I could get better products elsewhere I would.

Violetparis · 11/08/2021 07:49

I like their Pur Blanca perfume.

ChicChaos · 11/08/2021 08:02

I like the glimmersticks, the eye liners are great and so are the brow pencils for me. Other things we like are the dry shampoo and the shower gels.

I have been thinking of some eye primer, might have to try theirs now.

EatingAllThePies · 11/08/2021 08:07

I buy direct and like eyebrow glimmersticks and in fact all the glimmersticks! Perfumes are good value and I always have a few in, I don't like their mascara, have tried a few and always disappointed. Not keen on their household stuff save for candles and stick smellies. I've had a few decent clothes from there but not great value. I have a nice bronzer and contour set too.

Fruityb · 11/08/2021 09:00

I actually despise MLM schemes with a vengeance but am an Avon rep because I get a discount. I am never contacted or bothered by anyone and I only buy for me. I’ve never even shown someone a book or done anything with the web page I’ve got. It’s nowhere near like the others and I’m still a rep despite not having bought a thing for a couple of months.

ShipshapeShore · 11/08/2021 09:06

The glimmerstick eyeliners are my favourite. They glide on and the black brown shade is perfect for me.

I always wonder about the more 'interesting' lipstick shades like the purples. They must sell or they wouldn't be in the book, but I can't say I've ever seen anyone wear an Avon purple lipstick in real life!

I've bought some Avon clothes off eBay, got a suede-type jacket which is lovely and a few dresses.
IchHabeSiebenFlowers · 11/08/2021 09:40

Another vote for Glimmersticks.

Maybe this is a bit too revealing, but I also love their FootWorks Deodorising Foot and Shoe Spray. When it was really hot I was just spraying it on and enjoying the blessed relief Grin

kurtney · 11/08/2021 10:26

I like their nail polishes and the gel top coat is excellent.

Also, their matte lipsticks are better than Mac I've found. I always get compliments on a red coral shade when I wear it and it doesn't wear or rub off for ages. Also second their eyeshadow primer.

CandyflossKid · 11/08/2021 15:14

The Anew eye cream is really good (in a purple tube). I've just bought my 2nd lot on offer for £10 instead of £14.
It really tightens the skin under the eyes

Noshowwithoutpunch · 11/08/2021 15:17

I love Avon PJs.

Deathraystare · 14/08/2021 08:35

I love the glimmersticks eye liners. My eyesight is shite so I have to use pencils.

I cannot personally recommend a perfume. It has all gone downhill . The 70's was a lovely time for some amazing scents but now all their stuff is watery/vanilla clogged. Yeuch.

Some of the skin stuff is ok. I never liked the lipsticks. The Pixiwoo girls have liked one of the mascaras ?shock I cannot remember the name.

I have had bras from Avon and been happy with them.

Always love skin so soft original dry oil spray - said to keep insects away! I just love the smell.
