Holy grail of duvet coats?

dustyflipflop · 10/08/2021 11:33

I have been on the hunt for one for months now and I can't seem to find anything nice.
I loved the Emma Willis one for Next but they are out of stock everywhere.

I am looking for an (at least slightly waterproof) long duvet/padded coat for winter I can throw over anything and that ideally isn't completely shapeless as that style doesn't suit me.
Budget is 150.

Could anyone please help a girl out with some links or send me in the direction of some stores / websites?
It would be really appreciated.

You could wait and see if Emma Willis does a new range for Next for AW21? There will be loads of coats coming online/into the shops in the next month or so.

Galassia · 10/08/2021 11:53

Moncler.

Galassia · 10/08/2021 11:53

Sorry, didn’t read your budget.

Galassia · 10/08/2021 11:56

Uniqlo? They are water repellent though not waterproof.

BikeRunSki · 10/08/2021 12:01

If you are a size 18 and can find another £40, this is a bargain

BikeRunSki · 10/08/2021 12:03

or if you are a 16 with an extra £20

Actually it you look at go outdoors there are plenty under insulated jackets.

fiorentina · 10/08/2021 17:14

Uniqlo did some good ones last autumn. Not yet online though I don’t think.

Check next clearance daily, they have some fantastic bargains. Stock is usually updated early morning. I’ve just had a quick look and they have this www.next.co.uk/clearance/search?w=Emma%20Willis%20long%20padded%20jacket. If you keep checking something might come up in your size, I’ve been really lucky and got some great stuff

dustyflipflop · 11/08/2021 17:23

Thanks everyone. Maybe I'll give it another few weeks and see what starts coming in.
Love the coat under your link @MsDastardley unfortunately my sizing is about 8-10 so that one won't do.

I love uniqlo @Galassia but I need it to be waterproof as I walk my dog everyday and it is England after all Grin

I'll have a look at go outdoors too. I want to to be somewhat fashionable ideally without too much branding on, and no fur hood as again its one of those things that just doesn't suit me.

I have to have waterproof ones too as I’m out in all weather with my dogs.

My favourite is my DryRobe which I wear in torrential rain and it keeps me bone dry-

I got a brilliant one from Lands End this spring. I borrowed my mum's for an event and it was so good I bought my own!

BikeRunSki · 11/08/2021 18:02

@Galassia, I wear my Dryrobe and Sorell boots to DD’s football matches in the winter. I’ not cutting edge fashion, but I am very warm and dry!

SwayingInTime · 11/08/2021 18:04

Foxy have nice ones, often on sale in the online surf shops. Two colleagues have the Emma Willis one though and it is nice.

I've seen a few bits on Lands End do you have a pic or a link @whoami24601 ??

Ive got a previous years version of this coat:

www.landsend.co.uk/Womens_Hooded_Expedition_Maxi_Long_Down_Coat_/pp/P_41718.html?cgid=11312&dwvar_P__41718_color=ZTU

It is awesome. Warm, waterproof, has little elastic bits inside so you can pull in the waist a bit. It’s obviously not the pinnacle of fashion, but for walking the dog it’s great.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 11/08/2021 23:30

I just bought a Monki one in preparation for winter - it’s longer than the Land’s End one linked above, which I think is more like the Emma Willis one, and very oversized. I LOVE it! There’s a very nice one on Arket’s website but expensive.

Galassia · 11/08/2021 23:33

Is the Monki one waterproof?

Bryonyshcmyony · 11/08/2021 23:37

I have a really long (I'm 5 8 and it comes down mid calf) stadium cost from lands, end which is super cosy

But I also have an equidry which I bought for dd to ride in but she didn't like it, its super warm and completely waterproof
