Black tie means tuxedos surely not a black tie with a blue suit? I don't think it was black tie though as the guests were in lounge suits.

Cat Deeley, who normally looks great, really got it wrong with this dress IMO. Slash to the navel at a wedding, especially in your 40s is a no. And her sock marks on her leg made the whole look seem like she'd run out of time to choose an outfit at all.
