Dissapointed with salon dye.

I got my hair dyed at a salon over the weekend for the first time in ages. I normally do it myself including bleaching as I'm fairly confident with it after starting to dye it various shades as a teenager. I've been going to the salon for a while but just for cuts. It's not a bad job just not what I was looking for.

I'm having an operation in September and I'm massively nervous plus it can cause hair loss (it also may not) as the body adjusts. So I wanted it done properly and to have a bit of a treat.

But I'm really not happy with the colour. I had my hair a sort of pastle pink, quite yellow in undertone, so it looked a bit peachy before and now it's quite a dark purple pink. We did agree not to bleach again and do a shadow root which I was fine with as excessive bleaching can obviously cause damage. But I feel like I worked quite hard to get it a light shade to then do bright colours with and now it's quite dark.

I'm also massively disappointed and tbh quite upset because I just wanted to feel nice about my hair before my operation and now I feel like I hate it. I know as an adult this is probably dramatic, but I feel like I wanted to have it nice while I had the chance because hair loss is likely.

I'm not sure what I think I'll get out of posting. Probably just sharing my disappointment. Any tips on how I can fade the colour? Although honestly even faded I think it won't go how I want.

Anyone else had dissapointing hairdressing experiences?

Head and shoulders will fade it quickly

I had the opposite - my lovely dark purple faded out in a week! It reacted with the sun and went a fairly nice light red. Try a nice sunny walk or three, if the sun ever reappears. If it doesn't work, what brand did they use? I'll go get that one!

It does make you feel horrible when this happens.

You have my sympathies.

Try a clarifying shampoo to fade it.

@99point9FahrenheitDegrees I really don't want it red but I suppose I could maybe get that pink..

It's schwarzkopf but the professional one.

Yeah I just feel blah

LOL I didn't want red either! It's not bad though - it's like the remaining purple gives it some interesting depth. I'll try Schwarzkopf next Grin

@99point9FahrenheitDegrees the cornish sun stripped my candyfloss pink to blonde overnight!
I was ok with it...sort of
