Hairdresser price?

How much would you expect to pay for a dry haircut? No washing or styling, just turn up with clean hair and they cut it to shape. I’ve just been quoted £80 and I balked at the price so didn’t go ahead. My mum pays £150 for wash, cut, balayage and styling at a different hairdresser so I feel like £80 just for a cut is a lot. This stylist is more youthful that the hairdresser my mum uses so I don’t know if that pushes the price up, maybe the old school hairdressers charge less?

£20 max probably

dementedpixie · 08/08/2021 18:52

I get highlights and a cut and blow dry for around £60 bte

FourEyesGood · 08/08/2021 19:00

If it’s just a cut and not a restyle, probably £20-30. When I used to go to a reasonably fancy place in the city centre, they wouldn’t have done a dry cut; a wash, cut and blow-dry was about £50.

VerbenaGirl · 08/08/2021 19:04

I pay £70 for colour, wet cut & blow dry. It would be £20 max for a dry cut.

GintyMcGinty · 08/08/2021 19:08

I don't know but I pay £45 for a cut and blow dry. Fairly standard price in my town.

66babe · 08/08/2021 19:09

No more than £20
I pay £32 for a wash cut finish
£68 for my roots and above with toner

Amima · 08/08/2021 19:22

Ok so I’m not out of order thinking that’s expensive then! I’d happily have paid about £35 for a dry cut and £55 for a wet cut. I was shocked when they quoted £80 for a 45 minute dry cut!

I pay £7.99 for my long hair to be dry cut. My hair is all one length. I wouldn't pay more unless I wanted a fancy style.

LavendulaAngustifolia · 08/08/2021 20:09

I've paid £15 for a dry cut.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 08/08/2021 20:12

My hairdresser won't do a dry cut but it's £49 for a wash cut and blow dry. £80 is ridiculously high!

Wombat64 · 08/08/2021 20:16

I pay £6 for my lovely hairdresser. No fuss, no bother & I like the cut. Cheerful too!

Roominmyhouse · 08/08/2021 20:20

I didn’t realise places still did dry cuts! I left hairdressing in 2001 and we’d stopped them ages before that. We did a wash and cut, but no dry cuts as it was so unhygienic and people used to come in with dirty smelly hair 🤢

RuthW · 08/08/2021 20:41

I wouldn't pay anything. You can't get a good cut on dry unwashed hair.

I'm an ex hairdresser.

NotMyCat · 08/08/2021 20:43

@RuthW

You wash it the night before! My hairdresser asks that you come with no product as well My hair can't be wet cut because it's curly and it's a disaster I pay £50 for a curly specialist dry cut. Cut dry then washed and styled and then cut again as needed
mumsiedarlingrevolta · 08/08/2021 20:43

where are you @Amima?

Hereforthedramaz · 08/08/2021 21:38

Sounds normal to me (unfortunately)

I paid £78 for a cut and £100 for balayage highlights on Friday.

OldTinHat · 08/08/2021 21:41

£20 in the south east for a 'dry' cut (I always turn up with just washed wet hair though).

Mantlemoose · 08/08/2021 21:43

£15 in my hairdressers which is why when it's a basic trim of the ends DP does mine.

Milomonster · 09/08/2021 09:59

20 and I’m in C London. I never pay more than that.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 09/08/2021 15:13

I’m £55 for a cut and blow dry. I don’t know anywhere that does a dry cut here.

SuperSketchy · 09/08/2021 15:17

Exactly like some pps, my hairdresser won't do dry cuts on adults. Cut and finish is £57.

Maireas · 09/08/2021 15:21

I pay £65 for a wet trim.
She blow dries it but uses no products.

vjg13 · 09/08/2021 15:41

About £25 here, NW

Mumski45 · 09/08/2021 17:06

I pay about £65 for a colour cut and blow dry. I would not want a dry cut and definitely wouldn't pay £80 for it

vjg13 · 10/08/2021 20:29

I take my adult disabled daughter in with freshly washed hair and they dampen in and then cut it. She wouldn't tolerate them washing it or drying it. I think last time it was about £25 (May) and I rounded up to £30 because the hairdresser was so lovely and very patient with her.
