Has anyone tried Skims? Especially the bras

Just that really. I’m a small band size and larger, fluctuating cup size (breast feeding) and find it impossible to find anything non-wired that isn’t matronly, so thought the Skims “fits everyone” bras look like a possibility. Also like the look of some of the bodysuits.
If anyone’s tried it I’d be interested to hear feedback on quality and sizing.

Watching with interest.

OhRosalind · 08/08/2021 14:33

Well, I too impatient to wait and I’ve just ordered a couple of bras from net a Porter to try, so if you want I’ll report back @Lookingoutside!

@OhRosalind

That would be great. Thank you!

SheABitSpicyToday · 08/08/2021 15:00

I have skims loungewear and it’s my favorite thing ever.

OhRosalind · 08/08/2021 15:15

What do you have @SheABitSpicyToday? And did you need to size up? The ribbed cotton tanks and slip dresses look so comfy for lounging around.

@SheABitSpicyToday

Is the material nice quality?

Galassia · 08/08/2021 17:12

I haven’t bought skims but so buy a similar range from Oysho -

Their seamless collection

I am interested in your review too op!

I currently wear m&s bralettes, which are good enough.

Lookingoutside · 08/08/2021 20:18

The M&S bralettes make me look as though I’m not wearing anything at all Blush

A brand called Manners London makes amazing basics in the most wonderful thick stretchy cotton. The tops support as if you’re
wearing a bra. Not cheap but absolutely worth it.

OhRosalind · 08/08/2021 21:09

The Manners London site has some lovely things @Lookingoutside, I hadn’t heard of them.

The M&S bralettes I’ve tried were all too big. I like the look of Oysho though but need to look into the sizing more.

Net a Porter had limited Skims stock left so i didn’t get my first choice of colour but just hoping I picked the right size. I’ll definitely report back once they arrive.

@OhRosalind

I love the low back bralettes’ on the Oysho website and they look more supportive than the M&S ones.

I have tops, a skirt and 2 dresses from Manners London and I’ll be buying a lot more of their stuff. That Lady is a genius.

OhRosalind · 11/08/2021 16:41

So, my skims bras have arrived! I really like them and will be keeping them. They look tiny but are very comfortable and feel supportive once on and adjusted. The fabric is thin (so nipples show), very stretchy and very soft and velvety. The band is fairly thick and the straps are fully adjustable (I’m petite and very often even adjustable straps are too long). They feel softer and thinner than the Spanx bras I’ve tried. It’s 38 degrees here today but they don’t feel sweaty.

I’m a 30dd and bought the fits everybody triangle bralette (mica) and the scoop neck bra (oxide) in size XS. I prefer the scoop neck, I think the triangle bralette would be better for someone with a smaller cup size.

If they wash well and don’t stretch i would definitely purchase more.

Thanks for updating op! So tempted now.

DingoDollar · 11/08/2021 16:55

Have been tempted a few times.

But

I'm a 32F - But their smallest band size is 32? That seems a little odd? I'd be expecting a company that has Celeb endorsement for me to not need the smallest size......as I'm no Celeb figure!!

The model is apparently wearing a 36B in the bra I'm after. But suspiciously all of the photos are with her arms held high in the air - makes me think it doesn't even fit the model.....

Same reason I've never ordered from Savage x Fenti - their stuff doesn't seem to fit the models either.

OhRosalind · 11/08/2021 17:42

@DingoDollar I take a 30 inch band usually but measure more like 28.5, 29. I read that they come up small and the XS band is absolutely perfect, tight but not too tight, so as long as it doesn’t stretch out after multiple uses I’m happy. I think you’d need to be selective about styles though to ensure there was enough fabric to stop you falling out - the triangle bralette is on the skimpier side.
