Tunics are bad for pear shapes, right?

I've fallen into a tunic and leggings hole.

Round the house, they've been great, but now the world is opening up I see myself in mirrors/glass out and about and the tunics are just awful. Make me look bigger than I am and draw attention to my bulky bits.

I need to burn them and find something more flattering, don't I...or am I just doing them wrong?

Are the tunics boxy, or shaped?

Kind of like long tees, short and long sleeve.

I used to wear some shaped like really short skater dresses that looked ok. I was younger then, but they cover your thighs and emphasize your waist. Long boxy shirts would look ok of you had really nice slim legs and a thick waist, but not so great if you have a small waist and big thighs (like me).
Nowadays the shop's that sell them have the music too loud for me, which is a sign I'm too old to be shopping there

I just googled that to illustrate the style I was describing. Now I want to be 21 and wear a spider dress. Sad

Yes they look awful, time to ditch!

@HelgaDownUnder I love that dress!
