What do you buy?

I have just been given some unexpected cash and need some inspiration.

Perfume, I could do with a new one have always fancied a Jo Malone or similar, I like strong scents like Alien and Angel.

Jewellery, I like gold/vermeil and have recently got new earrings but would like a ring or small bracelet.

Have thinking about another pair of Veja or Air
& Grace or could get a new purse.

So please inspire me, what would you buy yourself with £200?

A bottle of perfume, some cashmere socks and some chocolate truffles.

PickAChew · 07/08/2021 14:52

Some bloody nice fabric. OK, I do buy myself nice fabric but I'm not quite prepared to pay Nani Iro prices!

Probsbly not helpful, sorry :o

liquidice · 07/08/2021 14:55

Some nice makeup?

DinosaurDiana · 07/08/2021 14:56

I’d get some Trinny London.

Whatsthatohno · 07/08/2021 14:58

I love a Tom Ford perfume that goes for £90 at 50ml, so would probably get myself a bottle and a piece of jewellery from Carrie Elizabeth as her designs are gorgeous.

User018475022 · 07/08/2021 14:58

I really fancy a really nice pair of Chelsea boots some nice thick soft tights and maybe a nice cardigan. I'm an autumn as you can probably guess there.

@DoodleBelle I have never had cashmere socks. Do they they not just get ruined, assume you wear them round the house or do you wear them in bed?

@liquidice I would love to be able to apply make up but I have no clue and I'm so heavy handed. I just stick to neutral basics from Urban Decay.

@DinosaurDiana anything you would recommend, am mid 40s and like skincare.

I love cashmere socks.

With an unexpected £200 though, I'd buy myself a bottle of Delina by Parfums de Marly. No contest.

IDidntFloatUpTheLaganInABubble · 07/08/2021 15:24

@Whatsthatohno having a browse on Carrie Elizabeth, not a brand I am familiar with so thanks.

@User018475022 I love a pair of Chelsea boots but have a few pairs in great condition due to never bloody going anywhere after I bought them!

I'd have a nice facial and get a new pair of doc martins or ugg slippers. Something fun for me and something that lasts a while.

Zenithbear · 07/08/2021 15:26

Jewellery always

DinosaurDiana · 07/08/2021 15:28

Can’t suggest any Trinny as I don’t own any, that’s why I’d treat myself !

ZaraW · 07/08/2021 16:09

Verry Kerry dressing gown and Glossier blush and lipstick.

Futurecatmum2 · 07/08/2021 17:32

Some really high quality bed linen

IDidntFloatUpTheLaganInABubble · 07/08/2021 18:14

@ZaraW how fabulous does Verry Kerry look?!

I just don't think I am swishy enough to carry one off, if I was I would get one!

Jewellery keeps where as clothes wear out.

Snowdrop30 · 07/08/2021 18:43

Angela Flanders perfumes are lush

drainrat · 07/08/2021 18:57

A month of appointments at Hersheson’s Blow Dry bars.

waltzingparrot · 07/08/2021 20:07

I'd be straight on my laptop looking at Penhaligon's perfume .

SomethingToldTheWildGeese · 07/08/2021 20:52

New running trainers!

goose1964 · 07/08/2021 21:19

A good quality pair of boots, to fit my fat calves.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 07/08/2021 21:36

I'd put it towards a new AllSaints black leather jacket, or wait for a sale.

Or I'd buy a necklace, but I don't like gold so can't help there!

despondentatwork · 08/08/2021 10:00

If you like heavy perfumes, & you mentioned Jo Malone specifically; Jo Malone Pomegranate Noir is heavy & luxurious. I was once given a candle in that scent which was amazing. I saved it for when I was alone in the house in the evening. One of the most gorgeous gifts I've ever been given. I've has a sample of the perfume & really like it.

IDidntFloatUpTheLaganInABubble · 08/08/2021 11:36

Thanks all for some great ideas, am off to the shops today.

@despondentatwork thanks for that, will definitely pop in Jo Malone am sure there is one on Regent Street.
