Foolproof fake tan/gradual tan to get my leg colour closer to arm colour for wedding next weekend please!

Almost there with outfit etc but due to gardening tan arms are very different colour to legs (see pic) should I slap on gradual tan twice a day for the next week or go for self tan day before? And which brand(s) is foolproof (I've never used instant fake tan in my life) only gradual and that's sporadic if I'm honest! Apologies for hairy legs in photo! Grin all advice/tips welcome, tia!

Ha I look like that! If it were me I'd be tempted to try a "makeup for legs" that could wash off if it went wrong. An actual fake tan would doubtless leave me streaky and possibly orange. I think there are products you can get that you wipe on and off which presumably you can build up. (Didn't they use gravy granules in ww2 as pretentious tights? Or something? Unhelpful)

Vita Liberata blur is supposed to be amazing. Its a waterproof body make up,lasts about 4 days

If you want a self tan Bondi Sands is the best I've found, the mousse

Alot of people on here recommend Sally Hansen but I found it was a horrible colour, like the old fashioned American Tan tights. Not natural at all

tinselvestsparklepants · 06/08/2021 09:26

Either that of course or just smile and remember that no one will notice or care Grin

I wouldn’t do tan the day before , if it goes wrong in anyway you will have no time to sort it out
I use isle of paradise drops in my own moisturiser , it does not streak and if you can do it daily you will be able to control how dark it will be , approx £20 boots
Having said that I have used granier and dove , and both were fine

Enjoy the wedding

San tropez mousse applied with a fake tan mitt. Exfoliate before and moisture ankles toes and knees. I very rarely tan but when I do I always do this and never had any issues. Also wear long pyjama bottoms to bed so your legs don't sweat in the night

iknowimcoming · 06/08/2021 10:10

Thanks all, I might try doing my gradual tan stuff (it's bondi sands as recommended on here of course) twice a day and see how it goes - sorry but I did laugh at sweaty legs (I'm 50 and every part of me sweats at random moments Blush)

I use the Sally Hansen airbrush legs in fair with a mitt and it doesn't look american tan at all, even though I am super fair. Last Friday I put it on my arms and legs in the morning, and it didn't shift a bit until Saturday night when I scrubbed with soap (you can get it wet but need direct soap application to remove it, so you can have a careful shower). It blurs out veins/bruises etc as well

TigsytheTiger · 06/08/2021 14:00

Also recommend Sally Hansen, use the light version to start and you can build it up if you need to. Definitely apply with a mitt and you avoid the American Tan look as described above!

Wouldn’t you wear tights to a wedding? Confused

Sisisimone · 06/08/2021 15:29

If you already have the bondi sands I'd use that. Its pretty much foolproof. I've never had any streaks with it.

Not sure tights and open-toe sandals are a good look but am prepared to be corrected Confused

James read tan is amazing, I'm super fair and it gives my legs a lovely colour. I use the express mouse and buy from eBay

Gradual tan never does anything to my legs just makes my knees brown Grin

Pegasusmail · 06/08/2021 17:04

Oh that's a good gardening tan op Grin
I would tan later on in the week and use the Sally make up for legs or even rimmel sunshimmer wash off in light (it's fantastic)

st topez mousse.use mitt.sweeping motions to apply.try asap.

Tippexy · 07/08/2021 00:11

Try these or these. Much easy than patchy fake tan, and smarter!

urbanbuddha · 07/08/2021 00:58

Garnier Summer Body. Exfoliate the day before you start using it. I use the light but I reckon the dark would be better for you.

James Read gave me horrible orange streaks. Thankfully QVC gave me my money back.
