Zip help!

Hi lovely S&B queens,

I have a problem. Bought a dress for a wedding. Exposed large zip - not a flimsy one - on the back.

Lovely, but won’t stay up. What can I do to ensure it remains up throughout the wedding this weekend?

I’ve heard hairspray works? Anyone help?

Xxxx

Small safety pin at the top?

BurningRed · 04/08/2021 18:56

It has a small clasp @Nitgel but it’s a stretchy bodycon dress and when I bend over it still (shoulders) forces it open?

Sizing is fine: it’s almost too big if you get what I mean.

Hook and eye.

Do you have someone who can put a few stitches across the top of the zip once it's closed? Then cut them for you at the end of the evening.

Or, as @Nitgel says, small safety pin.

It'll be the stress, so to speak, pulling it apart could you sew a small piece of velco inside to take up the stress.

(It may suddenly open at some point but that could be the highlight of the day, and of course you will have a wide-eyed look every time a champagne cork pops!)

Thanks everyone…

@TwoLeftSocksWithHoles that has cracked me up.

Dress has a hook and eye already so going to get DP to hairspray me in and leave it. See what happens!
