At-home gel nails no longer lasting!

I've done my own gel nails at home for years. I always used Bluesky products and they were great, they lasted over a week with no chips or peeling. Last year I bought new batches of polish and they just don't last, I swim regularly and after one day/one swim they are peeling. There's no advantage to regular polish. So I changed brands and tried a couple of others and it was still the same. So I thought it might be my lamp, so I bought a new one - but still the same! Just wondering if anyone else has found this? I would struggle to find the time (and money) to get them done at a salon every few weeks.

I would say you're probably not prepping properly. What's your routine?

The same as it always was - I file, buff, then use Bluesky cleansing solution (alcohol) with a lint-free pad. I can't understand why it used to work so well and suddenly doesn't! It's almost like the product has completely changed. I'm tempted to try something more hard-wearing like acrylic, but have no idea how that works doing it myself.

I had this happen. I gave up on the gels for about 18 months. I just recently tried again and it works again! I think maybe my nails had become too porous or dry or something that was causing the problem. A complete grow out period maybe resolved the issue

Did you buy the new colours from the same place as your older ones? I always bought Bluesky gels from ebay and the same seller but couldn't get a couple of colours I wanted from them so tried another seller and im 99% they were fakes. Theyre the only ones that don't last out of my collection and just felf different on application.
