Which colour bag?

I've decided I want to purchase this bag.

It's made by a brand called Polene and is absolutely gorgeous I'm just torn between the colours.

Which do you prefer burgundy or chalk?

Burgundy, but I'm thinking of me as a) I'm really grubby and would mark the paler one b) I wear those dark autumnal shades so it would match up well. If however you are cleaner than me and as pp said wear navy's and whites etc then get the chalk as it's lovely too.

SusannaM · 03/08/2021 22:17

My heart says chalk, it will match more things and look good in summer and winter. But my head says burgundy, it will be more robust. Sorry, not good at being decisive.

@MavisMonkey I think you're right. I feel in love with Polene literally only half hour ago I'd never heard of it before until I saw a fashion blogger on Instagram wearing it!!

To add to my recommendation I was just thinking about my fave bag purchases over the years and they are the ones that have worn the best- one is tan and the other is a dark purple close to the burgundy. I have a mint green mulberry that also marked and I fell out of love with that pretty quickly.
I was considering a Celine belt bag or Loewe hammock for ages but just couldn't bring myself to spend that much and Polene seems to be similar quality, just a new up and coming brand. I actually love the fact that it's a bit off the radar although I see more influencers are discovering it now. Whose feed did you see it in?
These are the two I am torn between

@MavisMonkey a lady called Olivia Charlotte Barton

I agree I have way more expensive bags that now I'm thinking why did I spend that much!! Well I know why - in part the quality but also the brand

But I'm starting to more and more like things under the radar as you said

Im also thinking burgundy can match things well as you suggest too

@MavisMonkey I love both of those bags! The green one is slightly more interesting with the snake flap but red is a colour that pops nicely.

If you have red bags already go with green. If not it's a tough one!

I love love love the burgundy. I may have to get one myself!

HollowTalk · 03/08/2021 23:25

I love the burgundy, but the model holds it (and the chalk one) in a really odd way - why's that?

StripesandSpaniels · 04/08/2021 06:46

I have the Numero Un Nano in burgundy and I love it. It goes with so much and has worn really well. Fits more than you think as well. Get lots of compliments on it and it’s not an easily recognisable brand. Am thinking of getting the larger one in grey for winter.

XingMing · 04/08/2021 12:02

Bookmarking... nice bags, good colours.

Zengarden001 · 04/08/2021 12:24

I have the numero sept in black & it is gorgeous. Lovely size, really fantastic quality for the price. I'd love a numero un but can't quite decide between the nano and full size. And that's before trying to decide on colour!

Personally I'd go burgundy - more practical and actually goes with loads - black, navy, camel, gray...

enoughforme · 04/08/2021 13:07

@Zengarden001 I agree and I think likely I will get the burgundy one. I think it would match the majority of clothing I have the only thing that I was making me reluctant is it being winter style but I actually think it could be worn in summer.

Let's be honest the Uk is grey in summer most of the time anyway lol
