Help me with my hair!

I'm not sure what length suits me. I don't like it short. I've had it cut to above shoulder length, then grown it down my back again! What should suit my face shape? Also what should I do with the front? I can't have a flat fringe, so tend to have it either layered down at either side (I have a side parting) or full length front with hair shorter at the back than front.

I need to make an appointment and not sure what I want. It's wavy to curly, depending how I dry it.

I'm no hair fashion expert, but I like it the length it is and with the front layered and parted like you describe. If I had beautifully thick, curly hair like yours, I'd definitely have it at least that length. But any poster with fine, thin, poker-straight hair like mine will probably say that Grin.

Beautiful hair.

I'd say, have the layers from the crown at the back chopped right up, and the back will then be big and curly, and the layers at the front can stay long and be blended in to the short layers at the back.

I have hair like yours and that's how I have it. It's long but it's also shapely and very cool.

Are you my doppelganger!?! I have similar, thick, wavy, dark hair, but down to my bra strap. I have similar dilemmas- get is shorter, grow it out, layers, no layers! Ahh.

I have a side part and a long fringe going across the forehead (not straight down and blunt). When long, I can tuck the fringe behind my opposite ear. Do you have any layers in it? Have you tried the curly hair method? How do you wear it day to day? Out as in the pic, up, in a particular style?

Thanks for the replies.

It doesn't always look like that Confused The day after washing it tends to get flat at the back and frizzy at the sides. If I comb it it goes flat and frizzy, if I don't it gets very knotty.

I've tried CG but it didn't feel any better or hold the curls better and was always knotty too.

I use Body Shop ginger shampoo because my scalp is sensitive/flaky and conditioner for coloured hair.

The layers are mainly in the ends at the back. It's difficult because too many layers and it becomes a ball of curls which I don't like.

I only wear it up if it's windy or at night because I can't find a way to do a messy bun that doesn't pull or come out and that suits me. If I could, I'd probably wear it like that a lot! I'm always admiring other people's messy buns! So, yes, I mainly wear it as it is in the photo.

If you dont like curls, go for long layers perhaps. Maybe grow it longer. Also why not have a look for some videos on how to sweep it up into a messy bun if you like that? I loved wearing my hair up when it was long enough. I dearly regret the fri get I had cut and its had to grow all the way back down to under my chin and is now a matronly bob. I'm heading back to rock chick asap, with the ability to sweep up too x it's tough isnt it!

It's not that I don't like curls, it's just it only stays curly at the front, the back goes flat.

I've searched for updos, but I don't think they suit me and also always seem to pull and hurt.

I should add, I can't seem to style them at the front so that they suit me, I don't like my hair pulled out of my face.
