Where can I buy nice petite clothes ?

I seem to have acquired a wardrobe of mostly next petite clothes as I can’t find a decent range elsewhere .
M & S petite offering is awful . I tend to wear dresses and jackets but recently tried on some regular clothes and I look like I am dressing up as they just don’t fit me .
Any decent ranges I can order to try at home and return easily ?

I’m interested in the answers too. I find ‘petite’ range can still come up long. It’sa joke when I see the model in the pic is listed as 5ft7” Hmm I’ve just ordered a dress from Seasalt in the sale. Apparently their returns process is straightforward.

I have lots of nice things from Boden petite - jersey style dresses, 7/8 smart trousers for work, I even got a jumpsuit in their sale and like it. Always look out for a sale, they have them regularly.

Yes I like boden petite. Hobbs also have some good stuff

Chihuahuacat · 03/08/2021 13:13

How old are you? I find a lot of the petite ranges can be a bit matronly.

Have a look at wallis, Dorothy Perkins, river island, ASOS.

(I can also get away with Zara / Mango kids…age 14).

TottiePlantagenet · 03/08/2021 13:16

I like Uniqlo clothes - generally cut to a smaller frame, with a wide range of sizing. But they charge for online returns now I think.

Cuntingseal · 03/08/2021 13:35

I am 48 but not matronly … am making the most of post divorce fun and an amazing sex life in a new relationship 😂

I will have a look thank you for the suggestions

Wallis is my go to. Everything fits in the right places. I’m 5’1”.

90sHomeAndAwayFan · 03/08/2021 15:29

I like Miss Selfridge petite range. The shops are closed but you can still buy Miss Selfridge clothing from ASOS.

Phoebesgift · 03/08/2021 16:00

Matronly women love sex too.

@Phoebesgift

Matronly women love sex too.
Well after 20 years of a shitty marriage I am just delighted to be enjoying sex again …. I am pleased I will still be enjoying it if I take a matronly turn

I find Boden to be the best by far. Sometimes a bit of Wallis petite and sometimes a bit of m&co petite too. I’ve bought some nice next petite t-shirts this year.

I agree that M&S petite are awful. They used to be a lot better but the range is absolutely tiny now and hasn’t seems to have changed for months.

I’ve never found anything I like in new look petite but they do a fair amount in their range.

HildegardNightingale · 04/08/2021 16:27

Seasalt have a very nice petite range.

LlamaofDrama · 04/08/2021 20:09

I like Boden petite. 5'1 and busty although size 8 when not dealing with boobs

Sheerheight · 05/08/2021 09:42

Taking notes , as I'm a 14 but short , I particularly need jackets in petite as have short arms. Trousers I tend to rely on cropped or ankle grazers.
Wallis was good but has gone i think.

ThreeKneeRepeater · 05/08/2021 13:44

Wallis is all on line now. It used to have a concession in our Debenhams, but that of course has gone now too. Sad

New look, miss selfridge and Dorothy Perkins generally. I don’t like Next as it’s quite frumpy with awful patterns.

I was surprised to find a couple of nice things in Tesco recently.

Hereforthedramaz · 06/08/2021 12:49

Fenn Wright Mason do a good petite range.

I'm slightly under 5"3 and the length are good on me.

I mostly only get work bottoms from, via JL. them but they do have nicer other things.

dameofdilemma · 06/08/2021 14:05

I'm the same age as you and most of my wardrobe comes from H&M (they go down to XS and 6), Mango and New Look.
Also a few bits from Zara and Asos.

The 'younger' ranges or Spanish labels tend to be cut smaller. I love some of the clothes at Arket, &Other Stories, The Finery, Whistles etc but they are huge on me.

I also use a good dressmaker for altering bits.

Lovemusic33 · 06/08/2021 14:31

ASOS
Boohoo
M&S
Boden

RogueV · 06/08/2021 14:40

ASOS
DP
Miss Selfridge

It’s also about sleeve length and where the waist line sits on certain clothes!
