Female hair thinning

Not sure if this is the right section but hopefully someone can help. For the last number of years I've noticed my hair is thinning like a bald patch right at the front but lately I think it's getting worse or else I'm just noticing it now. I have to have my hair in side parting to cover it. Has anyone else had this? Should I start using regaine/rogaine?

First check for nutritional deficiencies - low iron or ferratin levels will thin hair and have it coming out in handfuls. Low vitamin D can also be bad for hair. There's probably others I don't know. Also get your thyroid checked, underactive thyroid will do this. HRT might also help, but I'm not there yet so hopefully someone more knowledgeable can speak to you.

Iron levels need to be over 40 and ideally 70 for hair

However nhs will still tell you very low iron levels are normal

I’m hypothyroid, have severe anemia & I’m peri menopausal - all of these cause thinning hair, it’s worth working out what the cause is & treating that rather than finding a solution such as rogaine which is expensive, time consuming & only works whilst you are using it.
