Stylish waterproof warmish jacket

I am going to New York next April and I need a new jacket. I need a new jacket anyway so want to start looking at styles now.

I bought a jacket last year which is lovely and warm. It was supposed to be waterproof but you do get damp wearing it if caught in the rain.

Back to going to New York. I’d like to look reasonably stylish in photos. It will be spring but their weather means one day it could be 5/6 degrees and another 15/16 degrees. I don’t need anything long or super warm. Just a nice jacket. I’ve been looking at Barbour but I wonder if anyone has any other suggestions?

I can't help with a jacket -sorry- but a great tip I read (probably on here) is really get a a packable down gilet to wear under a thinnish/warning coat for cold days. So you could have enough variations to cover cold and warm days. Just remember to unpack it from stuff sack when you get there to allow the loft in the down to restore. I know Uniqlo sell these (but don't have one) and I'm sure other places do too.

I have a quilted synthetic fill Barbour and it's surprisingly warm (I can't remember the name of the style but can't see it in their website)
