Greasy fringe

I have a long fringe and a greasy forehead, I shower daily and wash it with soap in the shower, but the oily skin returns by mid afternoon latest.

Can anyone recommend something better to wash my forehead with or to spray on it please?

Could you try dry shampoo?

Spray very lightly on your hairline/ forehead only making sure eyes are shut and breath held, an anti perspirant such as Sanex which is skin friendly and won’t block pores.

I do this when I go abroad.

Dry shampoo! The Lidl one is great and during the summer I often blast my fringe a couple of times with it!
It's never dusty or chalky and leaves my fringe looking clean & shiny - result!

Do you wash your fringe daily?

Don't use soap on your face - it's too harsh and will make your skin over-produce sebum to compensate which will make it greasy. Try dropping back to something simple like a Simple or Neutrogena face wash, and wear a light moisturiser on your forehead.

(and if you don't wash your fringe daily, then do!)

Thank you. I've tried dry shampoos before, but my hair is so fine that they make my fringe look dusty! I really like the sanex idea - I'll give it a whirl, thanks again.Smile

I do wash my hair/fringe daily. I can't put moisturiser on my forehead cos my fringe just soaks it up and it looks greasy again

This is one of the reasons that I don't have a fringe anymore despite having a massive forehead which would suit a fringe. Also wearing hats in winter is a pain.

Agree with the recommendations for dry shampoo.

The Lidl one is a game changer! I don't use anything else as I too hate that 'dusty' look!

I’m same - fine hair, oily skin - I’ve given up on fringes !!

I have the same issue and I have found the best thing for me is to blowdry my fringe with volume so it's not flat to my forehead - I use TiGi Queen for Day, a round brush & hairdryer to do this. Then I spray a little dry shampoo (I love Living Proof) into my fingertips and massage into the roots of my fringe. I also use a mattifying primer and powder on my t zone which stops my forehead getting too greasy.

I think you maybe need to start looking into skincare which will help your oily akin. Soap is way too harsh and your skin will overcompensate by producing more oil. Look at Caroline Hirons' website and start from there.
I have oily skin and have found paradoxically that an oil cleanser made a huge difference. Salicylic acid helps too.
Once you get on top of oily skin that should help your fringe. I have a fringe and wash my hair daily too but on days I can't be bothered I just shove the rest of my hair in a shower cap and simply wash my fringe. Styling products used in your fringe will give it body and stop it sitting lank on your face which will help too.

I find salt spray and a spot of roll on antiperspirant helps.

My fringe was greasy all the time, I’ve stopped washing it every day and it’s not as bad now, I use batiste dry shampoo on days when I don’t wash it, and use Elemis dynamic resurfacing range on my skin which has helped with the oiliness of my forehead.
