Face pack for congested, oily skin?

Hi, for some reason my skin has been awful for the last few months and I’m getting lots of spots. This is unusual for me as my skin has always been pretty good. I’ve got combination skin and I’m getting strange red spots that come up and don’t necessarily turn into anything but they take ages to go (I know, I sound like a treat!).

Can anyone recommend a good face pack that will give my sensitive skin a good deep clean? TIA

I always use a clay face mask as I have a similar problem

rowrowrowyourcoat · 30/07/2021 23:02

Thanks Constellation89, would you recommend any one in particular?

www.templespa.com/purification-face-mask

This temple spa one is amazing.
It’s Quite pricey, but IMO it’s totally worth it.

It leaves me with really glowy, lovely looking skin but is also amazing at de clogging.
My friend gave me a sample as I had some acne on my chin and I used it every night for about 5 days- the acne completely went. It’s now one of my can’t live without products!

I have similar skin and love this, again not super cheap though and I'm always in the look out for a cheaper version.

Does really help though particularly if I use it once a week

Ooh I've been thinking about trying this so it's good to hear you are impressed.

A friend started selling and I was slightly worried it's an mlm but sounds like no?

SJMACC · 31/07/2021 11:03

@Hereforthedramaz yeah my friend was selling them and I have my suspicions it’s an mlm, which makes me feel a bit sick on the inside, however it’s the only thing that actually works for my congested skin!
You can buy it separately instead of through a rep so you don’t have to deal with the ‘mlm huns’ messages though!

There's an Aldi dupe...

@freshfacetime

Thank you! I haven't been to my local Aldi for ages so hadn't seen this.

I'll pop in to see if they have some.

Hereforthedramaz · 31/07/2021 11:16

Sorry to derail the OPs thread slightly but has anyone found any particularly successful timers too?

I haven't landed on one that makes any difference

Hereforthedramaz · 31/07/2021 11:16

*toners

Cloudbaser · 31/07/2021 11:18

I would go to the gp- a topical antibiotic might be all you need

FreshFaceTime · 31/07/2021 11:36

@Hereforthedramaz you're welcome. Good reviews so might be worth a shot if you can find any.

Geamhradh · 31/07/2021 11:40

Tropic and Temple Spa are both MLMs if that bothers you.
Lush do some excellent masks for prone to breakouts skin.
La Roche Posay Effaclar range (or any other range containing BHAs or salicylic acid) are good.

StickersStickers · 31/07/2021 17:24

I love this one by The Ordinary www.beautybay.com/p/the-ordinary/salicylic-acid-2-masque/

stripedbananas · 31/07/2021 18:31

I buy fullers earth (bentonite clay) in its powder form and mix it up with water when required to create a mask. It works brilliantly and also leaves your skin really soft as well as drawing out all the impurities. Never let it get too dry and cracked

stripedbananas · 31/07/2021 18:36

I buy mine from intralabs.co.uk and as it's in powder form it lasts forever

Bananaman123 · 31/07/2021 20:45

I've had temple spa and it was ok (love their other products) but I prefer the body shop himalayan mask and face wash.

Origins also do a good clay mask but value for money is the body shop one

Fluffycloudland77 · 01/08/2021 06:51

I’d go to the Dr, sounds like you’ve picked up an infection.

Did it start on your nose area first? The oily but adjacent to the nose if you drew a triangle starting at the bridge of the nose?.

WhereAreWeNow · 01/08/2021 22:41

I like La Roche Posay Effaclar clay mask.

groovergirl · 02/08/2021 07:26

Have you tried the old-fashioned oatmeal pack? Steam your face over hot (not boiling) water, pat dry, mix the oatmeal with warm (not hot) water, pat on. Leave it on for at least an hour. I used to leave it on overnight! Dead sexy!!!
I had awful acne until I learned how to care for my oily skin. Simple is best. A PP mentioned bentonite clay -- it's excellent for sucking the crap out of spots. A dab of 3% peroxide might help, too.
