What are people wearing to go out out in? Grin

I'm talking Friday night, in a city, lots of beautiful students, possibly a club.

Particularly 30 somethings.

I'm not in to the big floaty dresses and chunky white trainers look. Couldn't imagine wearing heels either.

Normally wear doc martens with dresses but don't know if that's ok in the summer...I've completely forgotten how to dress up. But then maybe every one else has too.

If you were going out out, what would you wear?

Ooh I do have these beauties that haven't had an outing yet.
Maybe with a plain black midi dress.

I’ve seen some women wearing fitted sleeveless plain coloured jersey dresses with flat sandals and a denim jacket, and looking great. Would you wear something like that?

Iamthewombat · 27/07/2021 17:12

The boots are, as they say, a lot of a look for a July evening.

BunTooti · 27/07/2021 17:31

The boots are everything Grin
I do like a dress/sandals/denim jacket combo but that's what I'd wear in the day. This is clubbing with young uns.

Out out in similar circumstances last Friday, and I would say, the same as what you would have worn pre covid. Not a lot has changed. The very young were generally very dressed up, tight short lycra, tiny play suits, crop tops etc. Very low waist jeans/trousers also seem to be back which was different. Mostly in bright colours, not much black about. Heels high with ankle ties, and brightly coloured or perspex. Older women in mom jeans with dressy tops and heels or jump suits but plain not floral summery ones. The odd skinny jeans and nice top combo. A smattering of trainers but only on 18 to 20 year olds. I didn't see a single floaty dress midi or maxi only short, and no flat shoes. I'd personally go safe in jeans/nice top (,and your boots!) for your first outing as you can't go too far wrong and feel out of place in that, and you can then check out your own city's style for future trips.

I think it really depends on the city. Some are much more dressed up than others.

dudsville · 27/07/2021 21:08

You've got some great boots around which to build your out-out-outfit! What about a midi skirt or cropped trousers?

Marriedtothesilverfox · 27/07/2021 21:12

Doc marten sandals?

whatever1980 · 27/07/2021 21:15

Very cool boots

floofycroissant · 27/07/2021 21:20

Ankle wrap espadrilles, lower heel but the wedge makes them super comfy. Look great with skirts or cropped jeans

Xztop · 27/07/2021 21:25

I wear leather leggings and a dressy shirt with some sandals

chellingham · 27/07/2021 21:34

Yes depends on which City.

BunTooti · 28/07/2021 10:44

I think I'm leaning towards midi skirt, mesh tshirt and THE BOOTS.

I prefer a slight aging rocker vibe Grin

I'm loving the ankle boots bare legs dress look.

HappyGirlNow · 28/07/2021 14:31

Where are the boots from OP? Smile

BunTooti · 28/07/2021 18:25

Topshop

The boots. A satin mini skirt and oversized tied shirt would look cool

PeacheyPeach · 28/07/2021 19:09

I saw someone out in long satin skirt, blazer cropped t-shirt but she had trainers on with that. Might work well with boots aswell
