Fancy Eyeshadow Palette ideas

Hi,

I am fortunate to have some money to spend on something nice. I was thinking an eyeshadow palette. I have a couple of natasha denona mini ones so was thinking of maybe a bigger one. Or Pat McGrath motherships look nice. Any recommendations? I ideally want something I am going to get a few years wear out of!

Oh and I like cool tones and pinky tones or colourful, not fussy. I don't get on well with orange.

Preferably a mix of matt and shimmer/metallic.

Pat McGrath makeup generally is amazing (foundation/lipsticks particularly). I am not adventurous with eye makeup, but if I were, I'd definitely get a palette.

My favourite is Nars suede palette but might be a bit boring, so I’m watching for inspiration!

breakfasty · 26/07/2021 18:53

Oh! That NARS one looks nice! I've found natasha denona glam and a pat mcgrath quad one I like the look of but the big ones look lovely.

I've finally binned my urban decay naked 2 so those are my everyday colours but am looking to branch out a bit.

I really like the ABH sultry and the ND glam
Lorac and nabla (both on beauty bay) are also great. Yes, I have too many palettes about 50

LizzieMacQueen · 26/07/2021 19:05

I really like Estee Lauder palettes. I'm a more conservative eye make up wearer though - might be too tame for you.

breakfasty · 26/07/2021 19:28

Oh no! Sultry is discontinued! I like how many pans you get though.

While they aren’t really everyday wear, the Pat McGrath eyeshadows palettes are amazing. I have found it a little tricky to get the hang of using the mattes because they are so pigmented, but worth the effort.

You can order direct from the US Pat McGrath website, with I think free U.K. delivery. There are often deals on the site (recently 25% to 30% off site wide depending on spend) so if you are considering it, might be worth waiting for a deal on the palette you want.

todaysdilemma · 26/07/2021 19:55

The Tarte eyeshadow palettes are lovely - lots of choice, and they stay on well/don't smudge. Gorgeous packaging too - QVC do good deals if you buy from them.

This one by Huda Beauty is lovely on cool tones www.cultbeauty.co.uk/huda-beauty-rose-gold-remastered-palette.html

I love the look of the new Hourglass palettes on the John Lewis website. They are mix and match so you choose the colours and finishes you want

thinkingaboutitall · 26/07/2021 20:33

I love the Huda palettes

thinkingaboutitall · 26/07/2021 20:38

Tbh I don’t think a palette that you’ll get years of wear out of exists

Makeup trends and personal tastes change over the years, so in 3 years your favourite palette may become redundant. If you want longevity you may be better off buying individual eyeshadow pans and creating your own palette?

In 2017 I loved naked 3, ABH modern renaissance, Huda Rose gold etc but I don’t even touch them anymore!

AColdDuncanGoodhew · 26/07/2021 20:46

OP you can get the ABH Sultry on Look Fantastic

I don’t know how to do a clicky link Blush

I’d go with the Sultry, ND Glam, Huda Beauty New Nude or Sigma Cor De Rosa. Ooh or two of those instead of a PM, although her original Divine Rose looks beautiful, I’ve been tempted by it a lot

Frazzledd · 26/07/2021 20:51

ABH pallets are amazing, Smashbox for a mix of matte/shine/colours also great-

I'm genuinely excited for you OP, both Natasha Demons and Pat McGrath are on my dream list! Has to be a reason that ND is mega bucks and the pink duo chromatic shades in Pat's palettes look amazing.
I too, like Huda's; I have several of her mini palettes but didn't get the rose one because it looked so similar to Modern Renaissance which I have done to death to be honest.
You can't go wrong with Nars imo.
Chanel is always a winner, yes smaller but always stylish and a joy every time you get it out.
Tom Ford and Victoria Beckham may or may not be worth the £'s but again, there's no denying the swish factor.
If colour payoff from great pigment is your thing then you could splash out on lots of Juvias Place - very good value (unless you go through Amazon) but as far as I know, they're still not in the UK and so there's the usual longer dispatch time and the custom charge.
Finally, the lovely Wayne Goss has a palette coming out or possibly already out via Beautylish and Jeffrey Star has a new one completely devoted to pink shades! X

Bananaman123 · 26/07/2021 22:34

I have the bronze ND but it is quite orange and too many shimmers. Cult beauty have 30% off Nars just now so might be worth a look.

Maybe the urban decay naked 3, the pinks

Bananaman123 · 26/07/2021 22:36

Oh and another vote for the Cor de Rosa

Inmypjsagain · 26/07/2021 22:40

Not fancy but the Tarte eye shadows are my favourite, prefer them to Natasha Denona and Pat McGrath. Blendable, stay on well, good colours and flattering on the eye lid!

Happy shopping 😊
