Which Dress for the Wedding

I am trying to help a friend choose a dress for a wedding in spain. These are the two choices. Personally I think the red is better. It sits better, it has a flattering neckline. The red will be worn with a lightweight matching cardigan if needed and I think red heels (I will post a separate link). What do the wise women of MN think?

You look lovely in both, but I prefer the blue

cansu · 24/07/2021 20:32

I think the blue looks better. Looks more slimming.

livingwithbees · 24/07/2021 20:33

The red is far more flattering and looks nice! I love the heels but think there may be too much red, matching cardi will also be too much red?

fellrunner85 · 24/07/2021 20:37

The blue is a much more flattering fit. The red is too small, I think.

SpeckledlyHen · 24/07/2021 20:38

@livingwithbees - I get what you mean, but the cardigan is very lightweight (a light cashmere blend) and was designed to go with the dress so it is not "jarring". It just kind of blends in if you need a bit more coverage. Not dissimilar to a scarf I suppose. But yes I can see that red heels might be a bit too much. Thank you!

I think you look fab in both of them. Wear the one you feel most comfortable in

Tina221 · 24/07/2021 20:40

Both dresses look lovely but I prefer the blue dress. The heels are lovely too.

Nightwithhertrainofstars · 24/07/2021 20:41

I prefer the red. Like the shoes too. She won't need a cardigan if it's any time soon!

CassTheFox · 24/07/2021 20:42

I would say blue. You look lovely in it. My friend is a wedding photographer and says sometimes red can be a bit eye drawing in photos.. depends on the wedding (and the bride!) Both dresses are really nice though x

billiebeeme · 24/07/2021 20:44

Red looks a better fit 👍

WeAreTheHeroes · 24/07/2021 20:44

I think the blue is better. More flattering style and more glamourous. Spanish weddings tend towards evening wear so something to consider if the couple are Spanish/there will be Spanish guests. Hats and headgear are rarely worn.

Pinkcadillac · 24/07/2021 20:51

I prefer the blue dress too, OP. and it the black shoes go very well too. Just add a sparkly black clutch and nice earrings

RubyFowler · 24/07/2021 20:53

Blue goes better with their colouring, it pops more.

BackforGood · 24/07/2021 21:18

I think the blue is the nicer look.
They are both nice, but the blue is more flattering, in the style, fit and colouring.

awaynboilyurheid · 24/07/2021 21:21

Yes blue is a better fit and looks lovely!

WeAreTheHeroes · 24/07/2021 21:24

I meant to say the blue is more elegant whereas the red emphasises the boobs more.

TabithaTiger · 24/07/2021 21:25

Both lovely, but think I prefer the blue. Wear the feel best in though.

WeAreTheHeroes · 24/07/2021 21:26

If it were me wearing the blue, I'd shorten my bra straps a bit and consider wearing some smoothing shape wear underneath.

Cloverleaf20 · 24/07/2021 21:28

Blue, softer on the eye and nice for a wedding abroad!

ineedanewnameplease · 24/07/2021 21:37

Blue makes you look taller slimmer and is nice and floaty looking.

helenjerome · 24/07/2021 21:40

I prefer the style of the blue one on you and the colour suits you better than the red

curlyrebel · 24/07/2021 21:43

I think the blue suits your skin tone more and looks more evening wear. Definitely dress up with nice jewellery and a bag.

Ikeameatballs · 24/07/2021 21:43

I prefer the blue.

UrgentExit · 24/07/2021 21:46

Blue is far and away much more flattering. The lady looks taller and slimmer in it. The red does her no favours imo.
