Gel nail chip… would this be rude?

I had gel nails done on Saturday. One nail chipped slightly yesterday and has half lifted off today so they now look messy and I have no suitable similar colour to patch.

Would it be too cheeky to go back tomorrow and ask them to redo the single nail (for free?). If it matters I’m a relatively new but likely regular customer and it is NOT cheap… £50 incl removal (London) but I pay for their days/opening hours flexibility,

I would say that's perfectly fine. I have seen nail salons get a bad review because of what you describe and almost always their response is "I wish you let us know so we could fix it". Just maybe call ahead incase they still have covid protocols in place limiting numbers in the salon.

My usual gel nail place gives a 10 day guarantee. All chips fixed within 10 days. It never chips!

100% go back. I've done this a few times and every salon have been fine with fixing the nail for free.

I'm a therapist and if it's chipped so soon I'd happily have you back to re do it for free of course.
If it's just the one nail it wont take long to soak and re paint. Sometimes happens if the gel hasn't cured properly under the lamp or the nail bed wasn't prepped or clean enough before application.

Excellent, I’ll take that as consensus! Thanks everyone. I’ll give them a call tomorrow and go from there. And if there’s an issue I’ll just take my business elsewhere Wink
