Collagen! Which one?

I'm trying out collagen powder and have got the Pura collagen glow+ powder. You're supposed to have two scoops a day but GOLLY it stinks and makes the drink it's in taste foul (although maybe it's the fact that I can smell it as I'm eating it that make me think it tastes awful too).

Does anyone have any recommendations for what to put it in that masks the awful smell/taste? Or is there another powder that is less stinky? Had a look at the liquid sachets but twice the price!!

Thank you x

Have a loot at Hunter and Gatherer. They are amazing. They don't market themselves as a beauty brand, so the packaging isn't as pretty, but it also means you're not paying the price of a beauty brand. But the ingredients are far superior to any of the beauty brands I've looked at. And they have more of each ingredient per dose than any other I've found.

You're using Marine Collagen so the equivalent would be this one https://hunterandgatherfoods.com/collections/collagen/products/wild-caught-marine-collagen-peptides-protein-powder

I use the Bovine Collagen every day in my coffee and genuinely cannot taste a thing. It has a bit of a smell to it (really not much at all) when in the package but as soon as you put it in liquid it dissolves and you can't smell or taste it. https://hunterandgatherfoods.com/products/grass-fed-collagen-peptides-protein-powder

I have marine collagen from beauty pie. One scoop a day and its berry flavoured so can have it with water although it doesn't mix the best. I normally put it in a smoothie.

Thanks both so much! Will investigate - they both sound lots better than mine!

Vital Proteins. You get it off Amazon, the big blue tub is huge, it's usually about £40.

Jennifer Aniston and Sara Foster (whose skin looks fabulous) use this one. If it's good enough for them it's good enough for me! Grin

Oh and it's flavourless so I have a scoop in my morning coffee.

moirarosebabay · 21/07/2021 16:23

Can you notice a difference in your skin from this?

@moirarosebabay

Can you notice a difference in your skin from this?

Yes and my hair. My hairdresser has really noticed a difference in the thickness. I had lost a lot over the past few years.

How long until you started to notice results? I have lines on my forehead and wondering if to go down the Botox route or try this first!

Sillybillypoopoomummy · 21/07/2021 22:04

very interested in this- how many of you are taking peptides??

blairresignationjam · 24/07/2021 22:37

bare biology collagen

LuckyAmy1986 · 17/08/2022 11:45

Bumping! I've just taken the leap and bought some vital Proteins collagen peptides to add to my morning tea. Excited to see if I get any results. - has anyone else tried this and had positive results?

CarpeVitam · 17/08/2022 12:50

Hmm, interesting. Is collagen likely to help with hair that is thinning through ageing?

MrsOwainGlyndŵr · 17/08/2022 12:52

I listened to a podcast about collagen. There is NO evidence that taking in collagen orally will help your skin.
Apparently, medically, it's just not possible.

I have read this as well which is why I took a very long time to try it. But I am going to give it a go and I read SO many positive things about it, worth a shot.

I'm following because I've been thinking to taking some, but it seems a bit pricey. Also I'd rather have vegan, but will have marine if I have to.

Every other celeb seems to be promoting it on Instagram, which makes me a bit Hmm

Toottooot · 17/08/2022 17:48

Have any real people tried the Nuskin one (lumispa people.) I see so many ‘boss bitches’ plugging this on Insta. They claim phenomenal results in weeks - very dubious about that huns. 🤷🏻‍♀️
