Is this bikini going to be more trouble than it’s worth?

Have ordered this bikini in bright red
www.bravissimo.com/products/boudoir-beach-bikini-top-ms145/#forest-green-ms145fgn
It looks great on and is comfortable but I’m concerned about the metal rectangle pieces on the halter straps and on the tie sides of the briefs. Have never had metal parts on a bikini and I’m concerned they will really heat up in the hot sun - am hoping to go Greek Islands next Summer.
Has anyone had bikinis like this and the metal inserts/parts have caused issues.
I would have the halter straps tucked down whilst sunbathing but the briefs could be a problem.
I love the bikini but is it going to be an expensive mistake?

I would have thought it would be OK. I have a bikini top with a metal clasp at the back (plastic clasps go brittle in the sun and can then snap) and that has never been a problem.

The top often comes with me as a security blanket and not worn very much though.

I have been concerned about that in the past but it was a total non-event and the metal didn't get particularly hot. I had one bikini years ago where the metal rusted a bit but more recently that has not happened.

I cannot see it as an issue.

HasaDigaEebowai · 21/07/2021 07:05

I have one with a metal buckle on the bottoms but it doesn’t sit directly on the skin.

Yes it gets incredibly hot and burns (obviously depending on how long you sit in the sun)

MayflowerMaisie · 21/07/2021 07:32

I should imagine it’s a metallic coating on some type of plastic. I’ve had “metal” bits like that before on swimwear… often it’s peeled off!

I was going to say the same thing. Most metallic looking things on bikinis tend to plastic.

I had a bikini with metal bits in my late teens/early 20s (decades ago). Wasn't a problem. Neither has my wedding ring ever been nor a silver chain when I was much younger.

MaryBoBary · 21/07/2021 07:38

Yes I've had one similar and it burns. Stupid design.

MoltonSilver · 21/07/2021 07:53

That's sitting directly on the skin. I'd expect it to burn quite badly.

Fluffandbubbles · 21/07/2021 08:21

Their customer service is brilliant, I’d ring a store and ask them to tell you what the gold bits are made of.

HasaDigaEebowai · 21/07/2021 08:43

I agree if it’s plastic it will of course be fine. Mine is metal.

OhRosalind · 21/07/2021 09:59

I have a Calvin Klein one that’s unwearable if it’s sunny as the metal gets so hot, I’d check what the material is.

salsamad · 21/07/2021 14:56

Took Fluffandbubbles advice and did an online chat with Bravissimo and they confirmed that the Bikini’s metal pieces are heat resistant nickel - so I’ve kept it.
Thanks everyone.

Ooh it's really nice

Itsbeen84yearss · 21/07/2021 15:00

I’ve got one like that. No issues with the metal. I think they’re more shiny plastic though lol. I couldn’t wear that bikini though. Halter necks= weight of boobs around neck? Nope
