Dress with pleats - pleats fallen out... how to ‘fix’?

I have a nice summery dress - light denim. It has fat pleats all around but they have pretty much fallen out.

What’s the best way to try to ‘repleat’ it? Iron, hang up, starch it?

You need to iron pleats in any fabric that doesn't have permanent ones and they will always drop out again, with washing, even with starch (horrible memories of ironing a pleated skirt for school, in the early 80s)

As PP says, you have to iron pleated skirts/dresses. Bit of a ballache, but looks so nice when you have your crisp pleats back!

I find it easier to iron the pleats back in with the skirt inside out.

Do you have any sprung clothes pegs? If so, use them to clip the pleats in place at the bottom of the skirt, then iron.

If you can be arsed, you might want to very loosely tack the pleats in place before hanging the dress up for the winter.

"Do you have any sprung clothes pegs? If so, use them to clip the pleats in place at the bottom of the skirt, then iron." - that's an amazing tip!!!
