Nars radiant tinted moisturiser?

I'm seeing lots of positive reviews and am thinking of investing. I use Estée Lauder double wear in day to day, normal weather. I use shade 1N2 Ecru though I think it's probably a little dark. I'm looking for something that just evens out my skins tone a little, not really lots of coverage. But also something that isn't going to just slide off in the hear. I've tried IT cosmetics your skin but better in the past but found that was far thicker than what I was after. Just something to give my very pale pasty and uneven complexion a little boost and even up. Will the Nars fit this bill? And would you have shade suggestions? I used to use Mac studio fluid in NW15 but again if I'm honest it was probably a little dark. I've tried Nars foundation in the past in Mont Blanc but this was probably a tiny bit too light 🤔

I have just switched to Nars radiant tinted moisturiser and cannot recommend highly enough. I used to use Estée Lauder double wear in 1N2 but found this was too pink on my skin (the lighter shade also had this issue). I also tried Bare Minerals in Fairly Medium, and even that looked like a mask. I bought 2 sample pots on EBay of Nars before I bought as I wanted to get shade exactly right (I am very pale), Finland will be ideal for me in Winter but Alaska is perfect as I use (subtle) fake tan drops on my face during summer. I am completely converted, it provides sheer/ medium coverage and does not look like a mask at all. Believe all the hype!

I should add this has not cakes or slid off even in this heat, despite an application of sun cream first (other foundation normally slides off my nose and cakes elsewhere) and for even more staying power I dust Laura Mercier loose powder in translucent over the top. I don’t think I’ll ever use anything else!

That is so helpful! Thank you 😊

Another Estée Lauder Ecru wearer here!! I recently bought the Nars tinted moisturiser in shade Groenland. Warms me up a bit, good for summer. May well switch to another shade in winter though I feel this tube may never run out!

Id go and try some on if you can op

I've just ordered some sample pots from eBay as I don't know when I can get to a counter and am eager to try. Hadn't thought of doing that before!

I found the Nars quite siliconey and oily on my normal skin type, it slid around my nose and chin- it also really oxidised on me and went orange- I ended up giving it to a friend. Which is a shame because I wanted to love it! (Maybe I should have tried with a primer seeing as the previous poster really likes it!)

I’m nc12 in Mac studio fix- the lightest thing that I have found is Charlotte Tilbury light wonder (I’m shade 2 fair) but I know a lot of people on here aren’t a fan of CT products. I find it’s not cakey, quite illuminating and not thick.

I really like bare minerals complexion rescue but if the IT cosmetics was too thick for you I think the BM would be too. Chantecaille just skin is next on my list to try as it gets good reviews (as it should for £70 quid!) but have not tried.

Otherwise I’ll be eyeing this thread with interest because I just want a light base to even things out but not look cakey!

ChardonnaysPetDragon · 20/07/2021 15:34

As PP said, it Nars Radiant does oxidise, so give it a good try first.

Just Skin is good if you can find your shade, they have the weirdest colours.

I'm now finishing a tube of Nars Matte TM, but it has a very odd smell, and I think it's discontinued, so I wouldn't recommend it either.

Howaboutthisone · 20/07/2021 15:37

Interesting! I'll give the samples a good try. I can't make myself spend that much for the chantecaille. Maybe one day!

I like Nars but I’ve also heard good things about Laura Mercier tinted moisturiser too!

Niconacotaco · 20/07/2021 23:45

@Inmypjsagaini I found IT cosmetics far too thick but really liked Bare Minerals! Currently using Erborian CC cream though - wee bit too dark for winter so will go back to BM soon enough.

Inmypjsagain · 21/07/2021 00:00

@Niconacotaco I found IT cosmetics cc cream really thick but the your skin but better foundation I found a much lighter coverage and generally much thinner. BM wins for me! Ooh I like the eborian Cc cream too but I can only use when I have a bit of a tan, bit too dark for me.

Having said all this I’ve barely got any use out of my base or lip products lately because of masks!

I also used to wear EL daywear in ecru. I switched to NARS TM in Groenland a few years ago as I found EL too heavy. I don’t find it oxidises on me and my skin is quite oily. The NARS is oil free and I always wear a bit of powder on top.

Girlintheframe · 21/07/2021 09:24

I love the BM complexion rescue. To me it's not nearly as thick as IT CC.
It just gives me a lovely even skin tone but doesn't look like I've make up on.
Agree Chantecaille is amazing but too £££ for me.

Rainallnight · 21/07/2021 09:28

I’ve never used the Nars one but came on to recommend Trinny BFF cream because it fits your bill of evening out your skin without too much coverage. It is completely amazing.

Howaboutthisone · 21/07/2021 11:24

I'll have a look at the bear minerals and trim your BFF too. Thank you! The IT cosmetics was too thick for me. It felt as heavy as the EL.
