So I've been searching for a dress for a wedding and have ordered loads! Maybe easier now changing rooms are open 🙂
I've done a Google and apparently pear shapes are supposed to wear something to draw their eye up (I never knew).
It came up with this dress which I live, but it's white, and it's a wedding... Grrr, so I'm wondering if you can help me find something similar, please.

In that case op defo try Boo hoo as someone who is 5 ft/size 10 top 12 bottom I get 99% of my stuff from there (she says waiting for her monthly Hermes delivery from Boo hoo ha ha). The only thing I don't get from there is jeans but that's a whole other story (smallish waist largish back side lol). I'm quite pearish and I agree with the picture it would be flattering, only thing id be cautious of is the length though, as I'm short I usually go for knee or above or ankle any over lengths can make me look shorter or dumpy unless I'm wearing heels, but good thing about Boo hoo is it's so reasonably priced I tend to order lots then return what I don't like, refunds always received within 3 days so no problem. Good luck op.

Thank you @ALittleBitConfused1 I'll definitely look when I'm home. @DaxtheDestroyer I love your suggestions, will look properly later
I think now changing rooms are open, I need to go and physically try things on, my OH can't cope with the deliveries!

Ok, that's didn't think that pairing navy blue with say bright pink would look too bad, maybe I'm wrong though

www.newlook.com/uk/womens/clothing/dresses/white-heart-chiffon-wrap-midi-dress/p/693630919 I've just seen this which I love, apparently the bride has no problem with anyone wearing a white patterned dress .

Love the 2 new look dresses op, prefer the second one for a wedding, both would look fab with pink shoes

Puffalicious · 21/07/2021 00:36

Navy and bright pink are a great combination but the 2 dresses you posted are not summer wedding dresses, they're very office, Xmas party. A navy summer dress/ flounce- yes.

@waltzingparrot I love the coast one, going 'proper' shopping Friday with my DD (birthday shopping) hopefully have time for me to nip in a few shops and do some 'actual' shopping, I'm no good at online shopping, the models always look fab!
@Puffalicious, I know that it's more suited to winter, but I'm just panicking if I don't find something that I'm comfortable in, then it's a backup. I'm not very good at shopping for me and it's been over 10 years since I've been an all day wedding, so finding it hard.

I'm 5ft pear, currently size 10 on top, 12-14 on hips. That Coast dress is gorgeous but would look all wrong on my hips. I generally go for a fit and flare style of dress with a round neck/boatneck and maybe some detail on sleeves. Something like this shape JL dress - example given just for shape of dress, I would usually go for a patterned dress!

bananaJamas · 21/07/2021 19:33

Have a look on shein

RustyFig · 21/07/2021 20:03

I love the New Look one with pink flowers! Would look fab with shoes in the same shade of pink.

Aginpleae · 22/07/2021 09:31

Thanks I've seen loads on Shein, but put off by conflicting reviews on the quality.
I will wait for the New Look ones to come and look at some when 'proper' shopping tomorrow.
