Shoe storage

I’m ridiculously tight for storage in the bedroom (built in wardrobes in the eaves either side of the chimney breast) and, having had clothes and/or carpet moths not wild about putting storage boxes in there. I do however have lots of lovely space on shelves in my study. I’m just not convinced there’s a non-wanky way to keep shoes in a…non shoe-storage place. Any ideas?

You could put them on the shelves in their boxes, or in matching boxes.
It would look quite organised, or you could put them in matching boxes with a photo or label on each one.

I have my loose ones in Trones shoe boxes. The boxed shoes and boots are in a cupboard where I forget about them

I was going to put my shoes on shelves but my husband made me a low wall of pigeon holes. Rather than hidden in a cupboard or boxes, I can actually see them and they don’t get forgotten. Because each pair is separated in their own space, it all looks a bit more ‘meant’ than just putting them all on shelves.

I really like the Trones cabinet @KirstenBlest, I just don’t have anywhere to put it! I haven’t got a huge amount to store (4 x boots, 5 x heels, 1 x trainers, 1 x sandals, 3 x flats) so I think a double row of boxes in uniform colour with pictures on will be enough if I can budge my husband’s trainers up a bit on the general shoe rack!

Oooh actually @coogee I wonder if the carpenter could do me some slotted bits of wood so I can turn a shelf into pigeonholes…

I'm sure the trones came in packs of 3. They work in a hallway.
Mine tend to end up not very organised inside and some shoes like hiking boots are too bulky for them.

You might need more than a shelf. I have 45 pigeonholes and I need more!

Hmmm, having put them out they don’t actually look that bad plonked on the shelf.

They don't look good Slothkin. Put them in boxes.

You’re right @KirstenBlest - I’m going to try these and see how they look in situ
