Fresh summer perfume - not overly sweet or fruity

Looking for recommendations please, as I only ever use musky, powdery type scents like Narciso Rodriguez for her, Black Opium, anything really that has noir in it’s name. Even in 30+ heat but I’m finding recently it’s giving me a headache. I want to try a light, crisp fragrance which isn’t too sweet or fruity smelling. Thank you!

You sound a little like my perfume twin! I have found many summer scents far too sweet. I like lemony scents but not cloying more fresh etc. My favourite is a mans one -Dior Homme Cologne (which is much better imo than the female equivalent Dior Escale a portofino). I have also just bought and like Nuxe le matins des possibles. You may also like some of the Hermes ones eg un jardin sue le nil. There is also a Jo Malone line for Zara which is v good value and you can order a sample set for eighteen or so pounds.

Also Elizabeth Arden White Tea (that one, not the flankers) is nice and inexpensive. Almost identical to Cerruti 1881 but less headache inducing. I think it has a similar feel to Narcisso fragrance but summery.

Bvlgari Eau de The Verte.... light, fresh, subtle and never cloying. Ideal for hot weather. At the moment, I am enjoying a sample of Los Angeles (Gallivant) which is a bit more powerful, but undercut with a marine whiff, and a dash of traffic fumes... It's urban, but pretty.

Chanel Cristalle/Liz Earle 1/Yardley Jade/Annick Goutal Eau du Sud all have a wonderful crisp hit of lime citrus zing.

Annick Goutal Eau d'Hadrien is soft lemon and sunkissed skin. It smells of holidays. Ô de Lancome is also lemon fresh as is Eau de Rochas

Any of the dupe versions of the Jo Malone lime-basil-mandarin colognes. Everyone does them, cheap as chips. I have the Superdrug Bloom one for £4.99. Likewise dupes of Woody Sage Salty wotsit. (can never remember the order)

If you prefer green- the only 4160 Tuesdays I like (and I bloody love it) is Ealing Green. Fresh and grassy.

If you want spendy- Chanel Paris-Deauville is green, yet citrus and salty.

Do you like floral? I like Paul Smith Rose, which also has a hint of Violet and cedar.

Lanvin Éclat d Arpege is brilliant in the heat and inexpensive with a white musk & cedar base & lilac top notes.
My all time favourite is Hermes Pamplemousse Rose for hot weather or Chanel Cristalle. There is a Zara Grapefruit perfume that has Jo Malone as it's perfumer and a rhubarb one that would be brilliantly refreshing in this hot weather.

This is brilliant thank you! I have a great list. I think I’ll get two bottles. Jo Malone & it’s dupes have been mentioned a few times so I’ll definitely get one of those.
