Hair straighteners

Hi- I need new straighteners that don’t make my hair frizzy at the ends, even when using heat protection spray. I’m throughly confused! I’ve read the Mumsnet threads and GHD, Cloud Nine and Kipozi all are recommended plus the newer steam pods. Help! Is there really a difference with the very expensive versions (I will invest if they really make a difference, but just worry they may be the same as my old ones). If there is a difference, please can you let me know why? Do they give a smoother result or are they just quicker! Thank you!

I got some Kipozi ones from recommendations here, because my coveted ghds were crap.

I can't remark on frizz tho, but for a quicker smoother pass on the hair they beat the ghds.

I'd spend £25 on them any day rather than 4 X that.

My hair is dry mid length and thinning, not having to drag the hair thru the slightly dryer ends more times than necessary has been the improvement.

I have the L'Oréal Steampod 3. No more crispy ends and definitely less damaged. Way better than my old GHDs and T3 One Pass.

I use Remington £30 after my GHDs died after 14 year.
They are actually better! My hair isn't damaged, smoother!

I agree about the L’Oreal Steampod - A game changer. I have the older version and my (very thick curly inclined to frizz) teenager the newer one. Both excellent. Can’t remember where bought. LookFantastc I think and they replaced the one where cord frayed quick smart no issues. I first came across it in Cypriot hairdresser where he explained that GHDs and the like just aren’t great in the heat and high humidity of summer. The steam keeps hair from drying out and prevents frizz in high humidity .... including as I’ve found in British rainy conditions.

Thank you everyone, this is great information. Now to decide between steampod (£££) or Kipozi. As I get older, my hair texture has definitely changed and it tends to be frizzy at the ends. It’s bad enough going grey but the frizz too ….🙁
