Flat, supportive sandals but with style…?!

Hi everyone- I’m hoping such a sandal exists. I’m 38 weeks pregnant and in this heat the only shoes I can fit into are flip flops. However, I have really high arches and so need to find some with a bit more support.

I’m not cool enough for the grandad sandal/Birkenstock brigade just yet and want something quite simple.

I think I need something with a slightly wider fit to accommodate the heat so that would be helpful.

Thanks in advance!

How about Clarks Trigenic Alexia. I have high arches and find the Trigenic shoes comfortable. They're mostly sporty but these are a bit more classic

Fitflop Cova?
Menorcan wedges?

For support sandals look at Fitflop, ECCO or Vionic.

Seriously just get Birkenstocks, they are exactly what you need. You don't need to be cool.

Insertfunnyname · 17/07/2021 11:37

You need fitflops they have arch support.

And I’m very uncool and wear Birkenstocks. Wear what you like!

Blowfish malibu macarah sandals, I have the same issues/wide feet and these are perfect. In the sale at office at the moment (sorry, can't link)

You need the camper misia sandle in your life. Congratulations on your pregnancy

HundredMilesAnHour · 17/07/2021 16:53

How about some Tevas or are they too much in the trendy camp right now??

I got these last year and they are so comfy!! (I admit I chose them for fashion rather than comfort but OMG I am converted!)

I bought my first pair of Birkenstock’s at 24 weeks pregnant, they have been fantastic, so comfortable and supportive. Wish I had bought them before and I don’t think you have to be ‘cool’ to have them, I’m definitely not! I have the black Arizona’s, they’re nice and understated.

Doc martens sandals.
Sturdy, comfortable yet not frumpy.
I live in mine when it's hot and they go with everything.
Took me a week of wearing them around the house before I ventured out in them as they were a bit stiff to start with.

Caramellatteplease · 17/07/2021 18:09

Vionics

waltzingparrot · 18/07/2021 08:13

Moshlu have a sale on. Lots of arch support options.

Undersnatch · 18/07/2021 08:28

Birkenstock’s all the way. Are they really that uncool? I didn’t realise!!

FindingMeno · 18/07/2021 08:32

Anything footbed is usually a good call.

RubyGoat · 18/07/2021 08:32

Merrell have some decent sandals. I have extremely high arches & have to wear orthotics in my regular shoes, but for really hot days these are fine. Comfortable for walking too, not just lolling about at a cafe or barbecue. Grin

OldTinHat · 18/07/2021 09:40

Fitflops. You'll never look back!

DonLewis · 18/07/2021 09:44

I love my Tom's sandals. They usually have a sale too, so you could try some of their standard Tom's. Cool and comfy and will wash in the machine. I think I got a pair for about a tenner. The sandals weren't as cheap though.

Maremaremare · 18/07/2021 12:06

These are marketed as having arch support and being really comfortable for walking: uk.secrashoes.com/collections/originals

OP, have a look at Rubyshoesday. Actual shops in Hebden Bridge and Ambleside but online too. I have three pairs from there. They look nice and are the most comfortable things I have ever worn.
