In the market for a new foundation

I am 50 years old, usually use ELDW. Looking for something oil free but also alcohol free I think, as my eyes seem to be incredibly sensitive to make up I have always used. Any recommendations?

Do you want heavy coverage, to replace the ELDW?

I'm early 50s and have just bought a water based Bobbi Brown foundation that I really liked in the shop. I haven't worn it yet but it was light ish and went in beautifully

I have just bought the IT cosmetics oil free foundation (you can buy a smaller tube from boots) and I love it! I am a doublewear fan as well but wanted to try something else. I love it, it’s full coverage and my skin looks great!

Thank you all. I am keen on trying IT cosmetics oil free foundation because it's got 40 SPF.
Do you know what shade I'd go for if my ELDW is Fresco?
I have also been considering Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation. Anyone tried it?

Yes I've tried that one, it's nice but find NARS Sheer Glow suits my skin better.

Uramaki · 17/07/2021 07:51

Have you tried the findation website? It does colour matches based on ones you already use.

BananasAreEvil · 17/07/2021 08:02

Looks lovely @Uramaki but it's not oil free

So based on ELDW Fresco, I should use Light (Taupe), but there isn't a shade called Light Taupe, there's Light and Light Medium, so I guess I'd go for the Light Medium...

@BananasAreEvil I only had a option of ‘light’ at my Boots in the sample ones so I just picked that and I would say I would need light medium for summer but light would probably would for winter!

I’m DW shade 2n2 buff for reference!

I'm a huge fan of Revlon make up, their Candid foundation is really really good, I get compliments on how my skin looks when I'm wearing it, plus it comes in a tube which is easier to stash in your make up bag.
