Depends how often your washing machine is on!!
But very similar amount to adult.
Also depends if sporty so may need more t-shirts / shorts.

Trousers - variety of track suit bottoms (3), jeans (2),
Shorts - 3/4
T-shirts - 7
Long sleeved tops - 5
Zip up hoodies - 2
Polo shirts - 3
Pyjamas - 2
Socks - 10
Underwear 10

Wellies (1), trainers (2), other shoes 1
Rain coat,

This would be a starting point for me. If budget not an issue then more of what they wear and like most.

DS is 12 and has

5 pairs of jeans
4 pairs of shorts
About 10 t shirts
1 long sleeve top
7 hoodies
Loads of underwear and socks
Only 1 pair of pyjamas that he’ll actually wear that must be washed in the morning (not every morning) and dry by the time he goes to bed 🙈
5 pairs of trainers

This is definitely on the low side of what I’d like him to have but he likes expensive skate/ surf branded t shirts and hoodies, Nike, Vans or Converse shoes and how many pairs of slightly different coloured baggy jeans and shorts can you actually buy? 😂 skinny jeans are also still very much in fashion for boys so his choices are very limited, he’s growing really fast too so there’s no point in spending a fortune on loads of clothes. Usually I buy him new things for going on holiday and there obviously hasn’t been many of those recently 🙈.

LadyCatStark · 14/07/2021 09:42

Oh yes he has 2 pairs of tracksuit bottoms too.

I work in this basis. We wash a lot but hate running out of things on holidays etc.
Trousers 5
Shorts 5
T-shirts 7-10
Long sleeved T-shirt/sweatshirts 10
Polo shirts
Pyjamas 5
Socks 10
Underwear 7-10

My ds12 has

5 pairs pjs (he never wears them though so I won't bother next year and probably just get one set for Xmas.

An oodie (warm hoodie thing he wears all the time around the house).

Joggers (decent ones) 3 pairs
Joggers (for scouts, camp etc) 4 pairs
T shirts - about 30 but these include football, cheap ones for camps and decent nice ones and ones for his sports.
Hoodies (zip up and over head) 7 decent ones and 2 rough ones for messing around in.

2 decent fleeces for scouts etc

Shorts 8 pairs but does sport 3 times a week.

MyDcAreMarvel · 24/07/2021 11:54

Trousers 3

Long sleeved T-shirt 3
Jumpers/hoodies 3

My kids have very few clothes compared to their peers. I don't see the need for more (environmental reasons, mainly). They're upper primary age and my boys have (for summer, not including school uniform):

5 x t shirts / polos (1 of which is fairly smart for meals out etc)
3 x shorts (1 of which would be smart, like chinos or something)
1 x jeans / long trousers
2 x hoodies / warm tops
3 x pyjamas
7 x socks
7 x pants
1 x swimwear
1 x lightweight raincoat

1 pair Crocs for garden

1 pair sandals (Teva)
1 pair trainers
1 pair wellies
1 pair beach shoes that can be worn in water

1 set of general sports t shirt & shorts (plus additional specific kit / team strips relevant to their hobbies)
