Hi all, I have naturally dark, just past my collarbone, fine but thick brunette hair but for about 5 years I had full head highlights and was wonderfully blonde. In hindsight with great timing (!), i had it dyed at a great salon back to pretty much my natural colour just before last year's March lockdown to cover the blonde, and have since had a few good cuts but no other colour put on. I was warned by the hairdresser at the time that the colour wouldn't completely cover the blonde and the ends would be lighter, which they still are -pretty much the bottom 1/3. I want to stay close to my natural colour now due to budget and hair quality (altho with long term aim to strengthen hair and have more highlights in a year or so!) so my question is this- am I safe to now go and buy an off the shelf brunette colour and just dye it so it's back to all one colour to get ride of the last vestiges of blonde, or do I need to get it done professionally? TIA for any help at all!
