Annoying belt loops on dresses...

Have belt loops on a few dresses - they need the belt but, once the belt is tied, they stick out and affect the line of the dress. Does anyone else get this? Any solutions, please? I guess they could be sewed to the dress (with the belt) to flatten them? TIA.

You're supposed to cut these off! :) (if you mean the little string ones, rather than proper belt loops like jeans have)

Thanks @BlairWaldorfLovesShopping, but the loops are in the same material as the dress and about 1.5cm thick, so don’t think I’m supposed to cut them off? 🤔

I tend to take the belt out of the loops, then do put up over them (so it sits on top of the loops, flattening them). It only works if the belt is designed to go where my natural waist is, though.

Are you really? I had no idea. Are they just there to keep the in belt in place on the shop floor then?

Definitely not then! Not sure what to suggest, except maybe getting them shortened by a tailor if they stick out too much?

@ViciousJackdaw yes they are! See number 5 in this article :)

Just razor them.
