Has anyone done anything about their cankles?!

And if so, what did you do, where did you get it done, how much did it cost etc?!

I've lost loads of weight but my ankles are so fat! And in the hot weather it's even worse. Looks horrible.

Placemarking - I'd love those bits that go in each side of your tendon, the hollow bits. Never had them, or the sticky out bones in the ankle. My BF, for instance, is way bigger than me but has both of these things. I run 3 - 4 times a week, am fit size 10 -12 but still, the chubby ankles.
I don't think I'd resort to surgery, OP, I'm too chicken but if anyone has managed to achieve nice ankles naturally I'd like to know!

Me!

I had liposuction just before lockdown in 2020 and it was the best decision ever!

I suppose I had mild lipodema (?) so no matter how much weight I lost, they would never shift. And I exercise very regularly.

I had the procedure done in Turkey- weighed up the risks and this particular surgery is lower risk. I also found a surgeon who was approved by the British Medical Tourism board (or something like that), as he could meet me in UK for f2f consultation prior and f2f follow ups in UK after op. I think in total, it cost 3k(ish), significantly cheaper than having it done here.

I was realistic about the expectations; I will never have slender legs- but they now look more athletic and not swollen. I just wish I had done it sooner. Stayed in a private hospital, not all nurses spoke English but I was very well cared for. Discharged the next day and had three days at a hotel before travelling back home. Fairly pain-free recovery.

One thing to note, the swelling from the op really does last up to a year. I wore compression socks solidly for around six months but I still have mild swelling at the end of the day now.

To conclude, absolutely worth it. I am wearing dresses so much more often now I have the confidence to.

Honestly, I don't think it's possible! It's like saying how can I get thinner wrists - once any extra fat is gone, I don't think there's much you can do!

I feel your pain though - I am a size 10 with decent legs but my cankles really let me down! I never wear shoes with an ankle strap as it just draws attention to them, and I struggle to look good in cropped trousers. It is something in life that really pisses me off!

Oh wow £3k even in Turkey, that is such a lot! Glad you are happy with the results. Am going to Google!

Having lost lots of weight I also have baggy saggy arms and it's depressing having to hide both my arms and legs still despite dropping to a size 10.

I did read about a 'threading' thing but looks like the clinic has disappeared.

@Ivageeivagoo Hi, I hope you don't mind me messaging you. do you mind giving me the name of your clinic and surgeon?

I'm looking to have lipo due to lip Odean and I think it's looking at 13k here...

If you don’t mind hard exercise to give the results, you could consider either barre, or a Pilates instructor with a reformer (not just generic gym Pilates class, but specialised targeted work).

Fellow cankle owner here

I'm really slim! I don't have a spare pound to loose tbh and my ankles are still shit

But I'm accepting it
I can't change it! Even with surgery I will never have the ankles I actually want so .. fuck it

I still show my legs off
And I wear heels with an ankle strap

Pheasantlysurprised · 14/10/2021 00:16

is it just me, but what is wrong with this exactly? I can relate, as a woman in this crazy world, why we might nit like certain parts of our bodies, but how the fuck can you alter a shape of ankle?

There's nothing wrong with these variations and there is no ideal fucking ankle.
If you are in proportion and are as attractive as you wish to be, get on with it.

sorry, I feel strongly about this as my sister made it an issue all of her life and only now at 58 has she decided not to vie a damn, has embraced skirts and dresses and looks amazing. And yes, a lot better than I do with my skinny sparrow feet.
