Aldi dupe for Tarte Shape Tape

Omg it's AMAZING and £3.99!

I've never had to use proper concealer before but I've hit 50 and getting really darker under eyes. I used to use a bit of Revlon brightener but I think they've changed the formula as it's crap now!

Just did my food shopping and this was in the middle aisle. It's Lacura Take Cover and looks just like the Tarte one.

Needs putting on with a damp sponge, this stuff is like glue but it's REALLY good!

Thanks for this - I need some concealer! Some of the Aldi/Lidl dupes are amazing.

I recently picked up one of the Urban Decay eyeshadow palette dupes and it's genuinely impressive for the price!

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 12/07/2021 13:19

I have the light and it's REALLY light but the medium looked too dark for me ( I'm really pale) might be worth getting the medium and light and mix them.

I've heard good things about the concealers too. Thanks for the tip.

Anyone tried the cleansing balm? I've never actually tried the Emma Hardie one but going to give this one a bash if they have any left in my local branch.

@Lookdeepintotheparka I got that one of those palettes too. I prefer it to my UD one. The brush that comes with it is really lovely too!

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 12/07/2021 16:44

I've tried the Cleanse and Polish dupe and couldn't really tell the difference. I'd like to try the Emma Hardie one too.

I got it and the Nars dupe too. I tried the 'Nars' one first and loved it so much that I haven't even tried the 'Tarte' one yet!! I keep meaning to go back and buy more as it's only on a middle aisle special and knowing my luck I won't be able to get it next time. I need to stock up!

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 12/07/2021 16:51

I'm tempted to try the Nars dupe too Grin

@MrsPelligrinoPetrichor I use the marine algae cleanse and polish all the time. My fave cleanser.

FreshFaceTime · 12/07/2021 17:50

The reviews on that cleansing balm are amazing. I feel like I need it in my life!

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 12/07/2021 17:53

The original is £46Shock

I think I'm going to give this a whirl! ...Although I am gutted that they've discontinued their touché eclat dupe...loved that!
I use their BB cream which is pretty decent & my sister has several of the Urban Decay inspired eyeshadow palettes which she loves.

purdypuma · 12/07/2021 22:56

Forgot to add...some of their Urban Decay inspired palettes were on offer in my local Aldi for 2.99 Grin

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 13/07/2021 08:50

Tried it properly this morning ( rather than just in the car on the way back from Aldi😂) it's SO heavy coverage that I dabbed a minute amount on the back of my hand and then used about a quarter of that. Looks great but proceed with a very light hand unless you wear a full on face of slap.

I’m a sucker for Aldi’s beauty products and am in love with the tarte dupe, just a shame the colour is too light for me. But it definitely covers everything and a little goes a long way.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 13/07/2021 09:13

It's REALLY light, which is ok for me. Could you mix it?

Bought a load of Aldi stuff this morning, inspired by this thread 😏 You're right.......the tarte dupe is amazing. I got the medium, which is just right for me. I also got 2 of the primers. They're also fantastic. One is like a slightly less dense version of benefit porefessional. Got the hair mask too but can't vouch for that yet. Oh and I can highly recommend the salted caramel brownies too 😁

lazylinguist · 13/07/2021 10:53

Oohh - time I tried some more Aldi dupes! I already love the Cleanse and Polish stuff.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 13/07/2021 12:43

LOL @ salted caramel brownies Grin

Oh and I bought the vitamin c too. Just used it and it feels lovely. Not gritty or dry like some others. My skin feels lovely and smooth and plump. I'm super impressed by my bargain buys.

Journeynotdestination · 13/07/2021 22:40

I love their Nars dupe Radiant concealer. I stock up every year! Just bought 3. Might try the other one now too….

ILoveShula · 14/07/2021 16:55

At seeing it mentioned on here recently, I treated myself to the Radiant concealer but not tried it yet.

I was tempted by the BB cream and a primer but have plenty of other ones to use up. Are they good?

Lookdeepintotheparka · 14/07/2021 17:38

@ILoveShula
I have the BB cream which is almost identical to the Garnier version. I think it's good - although the texture is quite thick, it doesn't make my skin oily which some BB creams do.

ILoveShula · 14/07/2021 17:48

Thanks @Lookdeepintotheparka. I wasn't mad keen on the garnier one and I have an unopened one, so I'll give ther Aldi one a miss then.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 15/07/2021 14:52

I got the Nars one , it's amazing, better than the shape tape . Fab colour and goes on a dream!

OP posts:
LifeInAHamsterWheel · 15/07/2021 15:28

Yes, the Nars one is my favourite of the two. The hair mask is excellent and I love the mascaras too (one is a dupe for Benefit and I can't remember the other one but both really good) I have 3 of the Urban Decay palette dupes and love them all, as another poster said even the quality of the brushes that come with them are good! Some years back they did a CC cream and it was fantastic. I'm not that keen on the BB cream and I wish they'd bring the other one back but it's been a long time so I'm not hopeful.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 15/07/2021 15:34

I remember the CC cream, no good for me ,lasted 20 mins max but I appreciated it as someone who needs full on Double Wear Grin
