Use gradual tanner?

I feel really stupid asking this question, but can't work this out! So yesterday I exfoliated, shaved and moisturised. Today I applied gradual tanner. Do I keep doing this every day until I get to the shade I like? (Very light btw, so one application will probably do). So will it run off when I shower? Can I add my normal body lotion on top on normal days? What if I want to shave? Do I not have to exfoliate before every application? I'm confused! What does your self tanning routine look like?

I guess it was a stupid question Grin

No I’d be interested! I never manage to keep a routine.
I’m guessing alternating shaving and tanning would work. So do each every other day.

Or maybe shave in the morning when needed and tan at night?

Bumping as I'm interested in the gradual Tanner routine 😊

Get in shower. Shave legs. Get dry. Apply that Dove moisturiser with the tanner in it. Repeat the next day. No exfoliation, no faffing. This probably wouldn't work with an actual fake tan, but it seems ok with the body lotion type!

I use those body moisturisers, be careful around the ankles. I always mess up and don't do good coverage. But yes, I do it daily or every other shower

Does the tan lotion stuff get everywhere? I’d like a bit more colour as the summer comes in (if it comes in) but when I’ve tried fake tan I hate how it gets everywhere, on the sheets etc.

Kanaloa · 12/07/2021 09:10

The gradual tan moisturiser I mean, rather than the fake tan that comes in a can?

ImaHogg · 12/07/2021 09:14

I did it for about two weeks but gave up as it was too much of a faff.
I shaved every other day if not I found that the gradual tan made little pin prick marks where the hairs came out.
I had to moisturise every morning to make sure my skin kept nice of soft if not (and even though it was gradual) the tans clung onto the dry areas and was darker.
I didn’t exfoliate, I started to but found it removed patches of the tan.
It was too much for me to continue with in the end, especially as the weather has been crap and I was covered up half the time, although it would be nice to always be summer skin ready.

I use it all the time and it basically replaces body lotion for me, which I've always used after showering.

So shower, shave legs, dry, apply gradual tan (Bondi Sands in the blue bottle), wash hands, get dressed.

I use it every other day as that coincides with leg shaving and I feel like shaving reduces the colour. It doesn't run off your body in the shower or anything.

I always apply it to my legs as that's where I need it the most, and then usually arms and chest as well. It's great as it looks very natural with no streaks or patchiness and you can't see lines where I can't reach to apply it to my back.

Super easy!

The thing with gradual tan is you are forever smelling of fake tan. Tried so many who all claim to not have the fake tan smell and it's all lies 😆- every one of them does even if it's heavily masked at first by perfumes etc. I prefer once a week full fake tan, keep on over night then shower off smell then next morning (good time to change sheets too).

WindFlower92 · 12/07/2021 11:04

Thanks all. It's been a day and I just seem to have a tan on my feet and knees, nowhere to be seen on my legs! Will try doing it every other day I think and moisturise on the other day. It doesn't smell of fake tan at the moment, so maybe that's a win? Hopefully another application will be just right.

I've been using this and it's been a game changer for me . No fake tan smell and moisturises my dry skin enough to use alone . I usually apply for first 2 days for good colour then every other . Maybe use a body scrub once a week .
