What serum/gel to use with Foreo Bear?

After seeing some good reviews I succumbed and bought a Bear Mini. It comes with a sample of the serum but it's so expensive to keep buying!

Is there anything else I can use? I've heard about people using ultrasound gel or the conductive gel you can get for TENS machines but is it ok to put these on the face?

The other option I was thinking about was aloe vera gel or hyaluronic acid serum or even a facial oil, though this might be hard to clean off the device.

I guess it comes down to the purpose of the serum - is it to help the device glide over the skin or is it to help the current?

I bought some Holika aloe vera gel to use with my Foreo Bear. Though I'm yet to try it, I'm just waiting until the serum runs out.

I use a Nuface. The purpose of the gel is to help the current. I suppose the Bear may be similar, but I could be totally off base. I buy gel for the Nuface which you can just rub in to the skin. It's not cheap but you don't need a lot so it lasts ages.

I looked at the ingredients for the Foreo serum and it's mainly glycerin, hyaluronic acid and silicone, which you can find in most serums!

It has to be a water based serum and your skin has to be oil free so definitely don't use a facial oil. I use Q&A hyaluronic acid serum. Some people use ultrasound gel from amazon, I've not tried it though.

I use Vichy mineral 89 serum with my foreo bear, skin feels lovely afterwards

I wanted a cheap serum so I bought aloe Vera gel but it gave me spots (dry skin normally).
So after reading tons of forums on the subject I ended up buying some snail gel stuff from Amazon which is very very good so far.

I tried aloe vera gel last night and it was a sticky mess that made my eyes water! Will try the snail serum or a hyularonic one instead as I won't need to wash it off like I did the AV.

Oh dear. That doesn't sound promising about the aloe vera gel, given I haven't tried mine yet.

Let us know how the other serums test out!

I use The Ordinary HA serum - about £6 and works fine!

It went well with the Foreo serum from the sample today. The Bear was fine on my cheeks and around my mouth but there was a very weird feeling when I did my forehead!!
