Bought one the same as this today from TKMaxx for much less too
Just not sure how much I would wear it
I’m thinking of extra layer over a plain black dress or top

There is a very famous French classic movie (le père Noël est une ordure) in which a very similar "thing" is given as a gift and the character mistakes it for a rag

Sorry, I can't unsee the movie scene so a big NO for me and for you if you ever plan to travel to France with it!!

Ponchos are great for those inbetween seasons like end of September to November & also March to May.
Mine's black & goes with everything.
I bought mine from a traditional knitwear seller in Madeira so I always feel cool & mysterious in mine Grin

Always in. Practical AND sexy.

Hmmm... I came on here to say a big fat NO! I hate ponchos!

But then I clicked on your link and I actually quite like that missoni one. I don't think I'd wear it as I think it's a bit "older woman" but it's nice, I would think "classy older woman" if I saw someone wearing that. (If your in your 20s-30's then probably a no).

That’s interesting @Doublestar I’m 57
I sent pic to DD (29) who said no way which surprised me as I thought it might suit her

That's a pretty one that you've linked us to, but I associate them with westerns. Do do do do do, wa wa wa.

I always like the idea of ponchos. But whenever I actually wear one I feel silly, with my arms flapping around underneath 'wings'. I don't quite know what to do with my arms when I wear one!

I love a poncho, I actually have a cashmere one that just feels like I’m walking around with a snuggly blanket on, however I only wear them at home. I remember ponchos being in fashion around 2006/7, I’m hoping they make a revival soon

Oh but to answer your question - it would look great with a plain basic black top underneath.
