Is it just me or does the sun make my beard grow faster!

I suffer badly with very thick dark hairs all over my chin, under my chin and some on my neck too. I hate it I'm constantly plucking them out as can't afford any laser etc. We're currently on holiday snd after a thorough plucking before we left it feels like it's growing back at double the rate, the only thing I could put it down to was the sun!!

It should make them grow less, as that’s kind of the basis of the laser removal.

In my case I notice them a lot more in decent sunlight. I miss so many at home abs then want to cry when I get somewhere and see my face in the car mirror.

Sorry - maybe I’ve got laser and the Phillips lumea mixed. I might not know what I’m talking about at all!!

But I do feel your pain!

I use the torch on my phone and a magnifier mirror to try and get them all! It's so annoyingly, I've told DH if I'm ever in a coma he must pluck them! Lucky man

Ha ha! I’ve had the same conversation. And when I’m in a nursing home someone’s got to do it for me so the grandkids/great grandkids aren’t scared of nanny beard!

All hair grows more in the sun, I've always thought nature fucked up as it completely defeats the point of hair (to keep us warm!). Surely it should grow more in winter?!

Yes it does. Don’t do what I did... which was assume hurrah it had finally gone into retreat, then one sunny day realise that in fact it wasn’t in retreat at all, it’s just my eyes had gone worse and I couldn’t see it without bright sunlight illuminating it for me.

Me and DW have the same pact, to pluck each others chins if we're in a coma!

It's definitely that you can see them more in sunlight. I keep tweezers in my car and pluck them when I spot them in the mirror!

Yes. Hair and nails grow much faster in summer.

I feel certain it does. Being on holiday in a hot, sunny country (ahh, those halcyon pre-covid days) I have to check my chin twice a day 😳😫
