Lip fillers - first time

26 replies

ImbarbaraB · 08/07/2021 09:44

I am considering getting lip fillers

I have neglected myself in the past few years of new babies and want to look a bit more youthful (I do not want a big puffy overdone lip)

Can anyone help me know where start?

I have no idea what it might cost or how to know I’m not going to end up with over filled lips?

Please help!

Just don't.

Yesyoucantell · 08/07/2021 09:45

Don't do it!!!

Step away from the needle!!

Seriously, you don't need it

MaMelon · 08/07/2021 09:46

Lip fillers don’t make you look more youthful - they make you look like someone your age with lip fillers.

PenelopeP1tstop · 08/07/2021 09:47

Make sure you go a doctor, nurse or dentist. 1ml is about right - 0.5 ml usually not noticeable. Ignore those who screech 'don't do it!!!' as they generally don't have a clue, won't have had any filler themselves and are basing their opinion on the overblown TOWIE look

FloconDeNeige · 08/07/2021 09:48

Don’t do it! I’ve had various lip fillers from different places (countries) over the years and have never been entirely happy with the results.

FreeBritnee · 08/07/2021 09:49

Oh god I wouldn’t. The last time I tried it my lips had such a ridiculous overreaction I couldn’t leave the house for at least five days. I looked like this ...

Well that blew your assumption out of the water, eh Penelope?

PenelopeP1tstop · 08/07/2021 09:49

But I will add ... to look fresher and more youthful, a decent haircut and colour, some subtle make up, some new clothes and a decent multivitamin is probably a better starting point if you really just want to look better

Wh2mval · 08/07/2021 09:50

I want to do the same. My mouth is quite small and lips small too. They look odd, so I think just a small bit of filler would make me look a bit better. Im struggling to find who to go to. Im based in North London where are you based @ImbarbaraB

PenelopeP1tstop · 08/07/2021 09:51

@FloconDeNeige well no not really. The OP didn't say ' please all scream about how horrified you are that I'm considering fillers.' She asked for information about it

This. All day long.
PenelopeP1tstop · 08/07/2021 09:53

@Wh2mval google Dr Ayad Harb for his London clinic. He's excellent. Novellus if you're in the North East. Eterno 360 in Eton.

NoCureForLove · 08/07/2021 09:54

I did that. I answered the question of where to start - by saying don't start. Smile

FloconDeNeige · 08/07/2021 09:54

The best I had was a cosmetic surgeon in Geneva. He added more to the centre sides of the lip rather than just inflating the border, which results in that ‘turned-up’ kinda look.

Still didn’t entirely like it though.

If you want something like this, maybe look at teeth-whitening (at the dentist) or eyebrows?

Your lips look fine.

Your perception has been warped by the current blowfish trend.

It will pass.

My lips are on the thin side but they suit my face.

FloconDeNeige · 08/07/2021 09:57

@PenelopeP1tstop

Well, yes, because you said;
Ignore those who screech 'don't do it!!!' as they generally don't have a clue, won't have had any filler themselves

And literally the next couple of responses were from people who have had lip filler and do have a clue.

Done right, I think they're great. I had mine done a few months ago, 0.7ml. Yes, they are big and swollen for a few days after but they look completely normal now and no one has noticed at all that I've had them done which is what I wanted. This is my immediate before and after as well as what they look like now

I’ve seen lots of very naturally pretty young girls recently who just look a bit weird now because they’ve had lip fillers. I’ve tried Botox and a small amount of face fillers in the past, but I wouldn’t risk lip fillers .

Well that’s this message board entirely surplus to requirements 🤣🤣. Everyone constantly uses their own experiences to give their opinions.

I'm not going to comment on an individual's appearance because that would be rude.

But I haven't changed my mind.

So no different 🤭
FloconDeNeige · 08/07/2021 10:01

@applepineapple

But you already had full lips before filler. So yes, on you the effect is more subtle.

Many people who get it done expect it to end up like that, but it’s impossible if you have thin lips to start with - that’s how the puffy blowfish look comes about.

It’s interesting how much younger these girls look once the fillers get dissolved. It’s fascinating how we must interpret age through looking at people. For example Kylie Jenner now looks anything from 32 up to 42. Her youthfulness has disappeared along with all the work she’s had done. I find it very interesting what exactly makes someone look ‘youthful’.

Youth. It can't be replicated.

LittleBlackCat22 · 08/07/2021 10:14

Every single person I know with lip fillers, even the little subtle ones, Looks ten years older.
