Scalp acne

I'm not really sure if this is the right place for this question - but to my mind it's sort of beauty related so I'll give it a go!

I keep getting angry, painful acne type spots in my hair. Mainly around the hairline but also behind my ears. I've had them for a while now but they seem to be getting worse. Has anyone found anything that helps? My scalp isn't particularly sensitive and I don't really suffer with dandruff - but the spots are really sore!

You could try nizoral shampoo in case it is fungal acne.

Me too so I'd be interested in any tips!
I have switched to using a head and shoulders for itchy scalp and it seemed to help for a while.
Still comes back now. I do wonder if its stress related for me.

ask the pharmacist for a ketoconazole + zinc pyrithione shampoo I don't get acne on my scalp but get a lot at the base of my neck + behind my ears and the shampoo clear them up in days. I have also used it as a bodywash during a particuarly bad bacne outbreak and again it cleared quickly. You have to lather it up and then leave it sat for 5 minutes to get the full effect though

I find I suffer this if I use products containing oil and/or silcone. Loads of shampoos and styling products have them in.

Could it be that? Head and Shoulders is usually ok for me but strips the colour out of my hair and makes it look awful. At the minute I'm using Superdrug own brand fruity shampoo for coloured hair which isn't causing me to break out.

I've come to the shitty conclusion that I can either have nice(ish) hair and painful lumps on my scalp or crappy hair and no lumps. Looking like a bag of crap wins 🙄
